OMG Vegan Eating deviates from the typical do-it-yourself style videos on the Internet because rather than showcasing what the vegan diet consists of and how to prepare veganized meals, the hosts share the realities surviving in a carnivorious world as a vegan eater - with all of its complexities. Producer and co-Host, JANICE MIYAGI, conceptualized the web series during her own exploration and res
earch of veganism, discovering that there were very few videos that realistically described the vegan experience. Visualized, filmed and edited in Janice’s living room, OMG Vegan Eating aims to create an entertaining yet informative experience for all audiences, vegan or not, while also reflecting the lighthearted attitudes of its creators. MATTHEW ARAMBULO, the director of photography, and co-host ELAINE CHAN learn about vegan eating for the first time with the viewers bringing the perspective of a typical carnivore. OMG Vegan Eating is intended to be an entertaining newscast depicting Janice and Elaine’s exploration of eating vegan. Updates on the creation and status of this web series can be found on the Facebook fan page and Twitter. OMG Vegan Eating is a five episode web series produced by the collaborative effort of three UC Irvine students within the Digital Arts Program at Claire Trevor School of the Arts. OMG Vegan Eating is one of seventeen web series in production this Spring and will be streamed on the Digital Arts UCI YouTube Channel beginning April 25, 2011.
