Ok, now we have proof that the PDN is hiding the truth from the public. We researched this incident and have discovered that not only were the stories circulating about this incident NOT just “rumors,” but there are easily-obtainable public records that verify this fact. Our friends at Port Angeles Looks Like S**t posted an incident report in the comments section of this article only to discover that it had been removed shortly after. I guess the PDN Didn’t want facts to get in the way of their false narrative. We’re not sure what the local paper and the PAPD think they stand to gain by obfuscating the truth about this incident, but it is going to come back and bite them in the ass. We guarantee it.

So now the PDN is charging for a service that THEY AREN’T EVEN PROVIDING. Let that sink in. They can’t get you your paper on time, and when you call to complain, they don’t have a nanosecond to field that complaint. Boy, they sure are punctual with those bills though, aren’t they?

Here’s a “surprise.” Today several people have reported the the PDN has blocked them from commenting and removed their comments in the online version of their vanity press. Were these comments offensive or strewn with obscenities?
Nope. They just didn’t fit the narrative that the PDN is wanting to foist upon their readers.
Because that’s what a legitimate newspaper does, right? Stifles any speech that doesn’t fit their leftist collective directive.
Need further evidence that the PDN is a clown ass piece of garbage run by pretentious “woke” dickweeds?

It is painfully obvious to us here at Defund the PDN that the vast majority of the Peninsula's citizenry do not respect this media outlet. By now it should be obvious to anyone who is paying attention that this "newspaper" is little more than a personal blog for a tiny handful of pretentious, obscenely biased, left-wing extremists who do not care about objectivity in reporting or any dissenting opinions. It should also be obvious that they will continue to use this platform to try and shape policy and steer local politics in their preferred direction--a direction that is diametrically opposed the will of the majority.
Are you willing to let that continue? One sure way to make them stop is to hit them in the bank account.
People don't realize just how little effort it would take to put this tabloid out of existence for good. The PDN has been on shaky financial ground for years now. Every cancelled subscription is another nail in their coffin. Do you know anyone who still subscribes to this rag? Implore them to stop doing so. Tell them that they are funding the careers of sleazy, drive-by journalists who don't give a s**t about the future of the Peninsula or the vast majority of it's population, because that is the unvarnished truth. Indeed, at this point, fighting back against the excesses and nefarious designs of the PDN is a patriotic and civic duty. For the love of the Peninsula and your hometown, Help us crash this trash-tabloid.

Well looky here. In their mad rush to write something s**tty and libelous about a candidate that they don’t like, The PDN finds itself printing a humiliating retraction. Here’s a fine example of what WOULDN’T happen if the PDN weren’t so unabashedly biased in their “reporting.” To make this even more ridiculous, this retraction is really just casting blame on an unaffiliated citizen.

They say their goal is 200 new subscribers. That’s so cute. Well OUR goal is to see 400 people dump their subscription with this steaming pile of pseudo-journalistic f***s in 2021.

Mr. Gottlieb, the elderly woman involved in this incident was the male half of the “inter-racial couple’s” mother, NOT “the girl’s grandmother.”

Welcome to “Defund the PDN,” the first and only page created for the express purpose of bankrupting and ultimately destroying the Peninsula Daily News.
Whoa! What? Yes, you read that right. We feel that the time has long been ripe for this newspaper to be consigned to the dustbin of history. With recent developments bringing public distaste for the PDN to a fever pitch, we’ve decided to strike while the iron is hot. With it’s destruction, we, the people of the Peninsula, can look forward to credible and legitimate news sources seeking to fill the void.
Let’s be honest for a minute, shall we?
The Peninsula Daily News has never been a good newspaper, but for the past 20 years especially it has become a parody of a newspaper. As it stands now, it has absolutely no credibility as a news source and it has not enjoyed any respect from the public of Clallam County for decades. It’s Publisher, editor, and reporters are all leftist-extremists and marginal journalists (at best) who make no attempt to remain objective, behave in a downright vindictive manner to institutions and individuals who they perceive as not sharing their values and clearly revel in the fact that they can dump their mindless leftist drivel on a captive, if unreceptive, audience.
So why do we permit this affront to journalism exist? Better yet, why do we SUPPORT this trash paper?
If you do pay for a subscription to the PDN, ask yourself, “What am I really paying for, anyway?”
Here’s what:
Reprints of releases from the Associated Press. These comprise the bulk of their content, and this is information you can easily obtain online for free. Other “benefits” include: Poorly written editorials, packed with misspellings, grammatically awkward sentences, poor subject-verb agreement and good old-fashioned glaring inaccuracies. Finding instances in which the reporters deliberately seek to obfuscate the truth and deliberately mislead are alarmingly easy. It is time to bring an end to the influence of this small cadre of pretentious, left-leaning, substandard reporters.
How many times, after reading one of the PDN’s articles, have you asked yourself, “Do they even proofread this stuff?” If you have, you are definitely not alone.
So what can you do to help us crash this flying turd of a newspaper? It is no secret that the PDN has been struggling financially for years, so anything we can do to take money out of their pockets—even a little at a time—will be a step in the right direction. Financially, the PDN is very much like an old house that is rotten all the way to it’s foundation. One little shove, and the whole thing will come crashing down.
1. CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION!!! You can’t kill this bitch while sucking at it’s teat. If you know anyone who pays for a subscription to this paper, convince them to STOP IMMEDIATELY. No one should have to pay for the “service” that the Peninsula Daily News provides. In fact, it is truly shameful that anyone would give their hard-earned money to support this shoddily-written, leftist-extremist tract. If you have a stubborn elderly person in your life who insists on receiving print media, convince them to subscribe to a different newspaper. Sadly, it is our elderly population whose subscriptions are keeping the PDN’s financial heads above water. If we can convince them to stop wasting their money on this tabloid-esque publication, it would really speed up the scuttling of this rag.
2. This is technically theft, so we won’t suggest anyone do it, But….it would be a real shame if people were to start paying for one newspaper from the PDN’s newspaper vending machines, and then just taking the entire contents of that machine. It would be a further shame if all of those copies then found their way into a more appropriate place for them, such as the nearest garbage receptacle, a bonfire, the bottom of a bird cage, or beneath a puppy who is being potty-trained.
3. If you pay for an online subscription, by all means, you should cancel it, but maybe before you do, you should give that sign-in information to literally everyone you know. Again, NO ONE should have to pay to read the PDN, and the more people circumventing the paywall to view that craptastic rag without paying the salaries of these drive-by journalists, the better.
4. If you are thinking about advertising with the PDN, DON’T DO IT. Take your money elsewhere. Indeed, given the rapidly-dwindling readership of the PDN, advertising with them doesn’t even make good business sense. Advertise your product or service of facebook, or with KONP, In fact, feel free to advertise your business or service HERE. Just post it below.
5. Get the word out. The more people we have working towards this goal, the better.
6. Find examples of their garbage reporting, clear biases, grammatical blunders or deliberate attempts to mislead the public and post them here. Let’s put a well-deserved spotlight on these hucksters and their shabby work product.
7. Can you think of any other ways to plunge the PDN into the abyss of financial insolvency that we may have missed? Please, share them below.
Some of you may be thinking: “but, but…the PDN is all we have!”
Wrong. Sure, they are the unchallenged hegemon of print media on the peninsula—and they are smug about this fact-- but that’s not a credit in their favor. Their status as the regional print media monolith is more a testament to the Peninsula’s status as Podunk, USA than it is to their legitimacy as a media outlet. We, the people of the Peninsula deserve better, and are within our rights to demand better. As long as we are willing to tolerate the pseudo-journalistic diarrhea that the PDN has been churning out for years, they will continue to plod along, giving us the same trash that they have been since their inception.
Enough is Enough.
Let’s be clear. We aren’t giving the PDN a Hobson’s choice—step up your game, or go the way of the Dodo. We are well beyond that. Really, since their values, which they make apparent with nearly every one of their sophomoric editorials, are so out of line with the values of the vast majority of the people of the Peninsula, they just need to go away for good.
So to the staff, if you are reading this (and we know you are!—Special shout out to Terry and Leah) and are saying to yourselves, “good luck. There’s no way you can drive us out of existence.”
Our response is, “wanna bet?”
And to the rest of the candid world, we ask…
