Here's something to do after a challenging day at work!

A cozy place to dance in your own living room, with fun lights, smoke machines, lasers, glow sticks and glowy bodies, VR beverages, and people to talk to if you're so inclined.

I talked for a bit to be social, then got up on the bar top and danced for 20 minutes or so while enjoying an after-work drink of my own after a challenging day.

I've never danced on a bar top before, but somehow, I like to do it in VR ;)

What this event host did surprised me!

I've been to a number of events in AltSpace in VR, but I happened to be recording my pre-show tour of the space this time, and captured something that stands out to me as particularly awesome.

Event hosts - especially those with Discord where your audience may have interacted with you before hopping into your event - help out the newbies a little so they can remember who they interacted with when they want to continue a conversation ;)

I'm still trying to figure out who I was talking to at one of the recent 40+ meetup groups in AltSpace last week, for example!

I'll find them.... :)

Mindfulness and Meditation apps in VR are gorgeous, heartful and focused on topics that are Grownup VR type of important.

Crying in the headset is not at all unheard of, while working out, while meditating... whatever. If your heart needs healing, VR can be an immersive and safe space.

Wow! There are some live events that are streamed via Twitch and have pretty amazing camera work in AltSpace!

I was invited into the "camera room" before the event started last night and was blown away! The thought and precision of action shows this may be someone's hobby, but it sure is professional.

In this video I'm taking a tour of the event area created by Datesvr as part of their Speed Dating event in VR, before the event took place.

I attended for the first time an hour later!

There are regular events in both UK and US timezones in AltSpace, look for them and find them on Twitter, Instagram... and the other socials ;)

Early in the first pandemic lockdowns and I got my first VR headset, I thought for a moment about how awesome it would be if using VR headsets while dating was a normalized experience.

Imagine meeting someone interesting and being able to spend quality time with them while exploring a fun, beautiful universe of interesting creations?

I've got friends who met in VR during the pandemic and did a ton of dating in VR, wandering through games and apps and experiences together before finally meeting in person. They've now been living together for more than a year and are a bright light in our social community. There's hope!
