Our third PowerNap episode releases tomorrow!

While we are in-between seasons we still want to offer our insights on how God is present with us throughout the year - especially the church calendar year.

This third PowerNap episode is on the season of Eastertide. If you missed the ones on Advent or Lent, go back and listen!

Eastertide is a 50-day time of celebration following Resurrection Sunday when we tell the stories the resurrected Jesus! This time focuses on the days Jesus remained on earth before his Ascension, and concludes on the day of Pentecost.

Eastertide is an extended season to rejoice and experience what we mean when we say “Christ is risen.” It’s a season for focusing on the core teachings and mysteries of the faith surrounding the resurrection, and for preparing for coming of the Spirit.

Look out for this episode tomorrow!

Until then, don’t sleep on the importance of Eastertide, but do find time to take a nap.

This second PowerNap episode is on Lent. If you missed the one on Advent, go back and listen!

Lent is the 40-day period (plus 7 Sundays) leading up to Easter where Christians around the world for thousands of years have prepared themselves to celebrate the Resurrection.

Lent typically includes fasting and confession of sin. It is loosely modeled off of Jesus’ 40 days in the wilderness and the Jewish practice of 40 day fasting.

Look out for this episode tomorrow!

Advent is the beginning of the church calendar for a reason. Because its focus is on incarnation - God with us - potentially the most important attribute of God.
