Recent studies have revealed that majority of adults who consume cannabis do so for health and wellness purposes. Many of these adults are choosing cannabis over pharmaceuticals, when they can, to treat medical issues.
As of 2021, approximately 6% of consumers grow their own flower with numbers increasing as legalization becomes more widespread. Many factors influence why people grow their own.

When lavender comes to mind, it is often the soothing effects that we swear by. The lovely aroma and effects of lavender can be credited to the terpene Linalool.
When found in Cannabis, Linalool acts as a mood booster that provides relaxation and stress relief. Although this terpene is found in over 200 flowers and spices, it isn't dominant. Linalool extract can be added to Cannabis infusions help with anxiety, pain, epilepsy, stress, Alzheimer's and opioid addiction.

🍃 DO-SI-DOS 🍃

Since coming into the scene in 1996, Do-Si-Dos has created quite the fanbase. As Leafly's '2021 Strain Of The Year', inhaling this flower starts with feelings of euphoria and a head buzz that works it's way down, eventually creeping you into couch lock.

High THC content is to thank for the powerful medicinal effects felt from this strain. Although it may be great for depression and anxiety, those who suffer from panic attacks may want to avoid since high THC content can lead to paranoia, elevated heart rate and/or dizziness.

Growers take note: You'll want a decent ventilation system for two reasons.
1. Leaves are dense which can limit light and airflow. Pruning is required.
2. Do-Si-Dos plants have an extremely powerful aroma that is hard to miss and hard to conceal.

💡Did you know there are different techniques for training your plants so they become stronger, yield more and produce heavier buds?! 🌱💚

📸 The photos display a training called "Super Cropping". Super Cropping is a high-stress training [HST] technique that involves pinching and bending branches so that the outer lining stays intact while the inner fibers get stressed.

▪️When stressed, the defense mechanism of the female plant gets triggered. Cannabinoid and terpene-rich trichomes (resin) are released by the plant which causes an increase in the intake of nutrients and fuels the growth of the plant.

,▪️With the branches bent, the plant will take on more of a bushy look with more bud sites exposed to the light and as the plants recover, hard knots will form where the branches were pinched and bent. These knots will help support the overall structure of your plant.

▪️Many experienced growers combine super cropping with other training techniques such as 'topping' and although it all seems intimidating, it takes just a little bit of practice to get maximum productivity and value from your Cannabis plants. 🌿💚

Growing Cannabis is like any other gardening process, which makes for an excellent hobby! 🌱💚🌿 Canna-Gardening is great for your mental health, gets you up and moving and has an incredible end product!
When you're having a bad day or just need a moment to calm yourself, I recommend dedicating an hour to tend to your plants. You'd be surprised at how refreshed you'll feel by the end of that hour. 🙌

What if I said you didn't have to fertilize? 🤔
Most synthetic fertilizers only contain 3-4 of the 10-15 essential nutrients that our plants need. These fertilizers give plants a quick boost, but do little to stimulate soil life or improve the soil's long-term fertility. Quality potting soil can contain all the nutrients needed, so I suggest skipping the synthetic products and using your own compost or an organic fertilizer.

Germination: What technique works best for you? 🌱
Germinating seeds should be a simple affair. The seeds only need three things: air, water, and heat. I find that darker seeds are the most likely to germinate when kept in the right conditions.
