The two-track release - DRR005 - Ego-Free Sequences - Headshell // Relent (Feat. Vocals from Devashish) is out on Bandcamp and all major digital platforms on Friday 31st January and we are stoked for you to share it! 🔊

These tracks draw on a massive range of influences across a huge spectrum of genres and we believe/hope they offer something pretty fresh and exciting! Feedback so far has been very positive and we will be delighted if they have an impact on you! 🛸

Sending out Love and gratitude to everyone who has supported or connected with Dark Red Records in 2024 and to everyone we have worked with! ❤️

As necessary as it is, it can be challenging not to focus too much on online engagement levels and to balance this with the importance of what actually happens when we all come together and do what this is all about - RAVE! ⚡️

So, as much as we appreciate the importance of online engagement (and not writing ironic Instagram posts 😂) if DRR has a New Year’s resolution it’s this - to keep a steady main focus on what got us into this music in the first place and what has always been the very highest intention of this project - to bring people together to co-create and celebrate as we work to nourish and evolve our wonderful homegrown sound system culture that has given us so much, keeping the sublime and uniquely exciting energy of grass roots bass music fresh and alive in intimate venues - to build COMMUNITY 🙌🏼

We have plenty of new music and events lined up for the year ahead and we look forward to sharing smiles, throwing shapes and creating many many more meaningful and joyous memories with you! 🌍

Wowza! It feels like it’s been a while! Toooo looong! 😅

So… for something to look forward to and get us through the winter it’s with much excitement and gratitude we share the poster for the next installment of DRR ‘business end’ sonic contact!⚔️

Back once again with our lovely hosts at we are very grateful to be welcoming a few new faces to the dance 🛸
dvf is joining us to roll out for the crew selecting from her fine jungle vinyl crates and holding down the microphone alongside DRR resident we are very excited to have both and .thewobmudda who will each be showcasing their respective unique and versatile hosting / vocal skills for us on the night! 🎤

Back-up comes from the DRR regulars and who will be bringing their beautifully deep, dark and engaging sonic ruckus as standard including tastes of forthcoming releases!⚡️

Entry is FREE and we run from 22:00 until 03:00 and we will be very happy to welcome you on the night! 🤗

Warm vibes, superb sound and bass faces a-plenty! 🤪

As we count down to tonight we want to do everything we can to make our event a safe and inclusive space for everyone. We are delighted that all staff at have completed training with the lovely people at and the venue is an accredited space. We encourage anyone who needs support to approach a venue staff member or one of the event organizers Joe and Ed (in the next slide ➡️) who can facilitate support from venue staff if/when needed. Our intention is to have as safe a space as possible so we can have as much fun as possible! 💛

Last year an email came through to DRR with a very exciting selection of demo music. Naturally syncopated drum patterns, restrained development, stunning mix downs and a lovely deep, dark vibe across all the tracks. Enter ⚡️

Over the following months we received more music and had a smooth back and forth about tracks, structures and forthcoming releases and events. The end result: Sqimer provided two fantastic tracks for the new EP, stepped up as mastering engineer for the whole piece, had one of his tracks played by legend , had a premiere on this week and he’s flying up from France to play his UK debut for Dark Red Records in Manchester this Friday! 🌍

Thank you for doing so much to make this EP happen mate! Manchester is very excited to welcome you! 🎧🐝❤️‍🔥

We met Mr Klemit hosting for Manchester bass neighbors last year and we were delighted to have him come and debut for us at our last event at where his presence and skills rounded out the DRR performance piece perfectly ❤️‍🔥

A chance encounter buying studio speakers brought our friend Ed AKA into the DRR fold and we’re very grateful to have him bring support to the label as he shares the load of making our next event happen! ❤️‍🔥

Bristolian is the force behind a YouTube channel, a record label and a show on all falling under the same brand alongside his work as a DJ, visual artist and event organizer as part of the crew ⚡️

is a super-hard-working champion of underground bass music and we are not only very grateful to be working with him but also continually inspired by his dedication and focus, not to mention the fact he’s simply a lovely fu***ng guy! 🙌🏼
