Who loves mango?🙌⁠ ⁠Mango is one of our favorite fruits! It is such a gorgeous color, and is packed with fiber and Vitamin C. ⁠ ⁠Here’s how you can offer them to baby!⬇️⁠ 🥭 6 – 8 months: ⁠ Cut a slice of mango against the pit, cut this part again into long slices, leave a portion of the skin on so that it’s not so slippery.⁠ You can also keep all the skin on the slice and make a checkered cut onto the peel (being careful not to break it), then you turn it inside out. If it’s a big mango you can cut this slice in half to make it easier to hold on to.⁠ ⁠🥭 9 months +: ⁠ Then after they develop the pincer grasp, you can just take off the peel and offer the mango cut in smaller pieces.⁠ ⁠🥭 The fibers on mango can lead to choking, so if the mango is fibrous, offer it in the shape shown in the video, that way the mango is cut into smaller pieces and so are the fibers.⁠ Some little ones have an oral reaction to the skin of mango, if it persists and is uncomfortable you can hold off on offering again and connect with your pediatrician. ⁠⁠If you are wanting more photos and videos on how to offer foods to baby while you are cooking, check out our free Foods section in the app. ✨Download the BLW Meals App in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store today.✨
