Operation Christmas Child is a really fun way to kick off the holidays. Using a shoebox (or buying a $3 plastic box at hobby lobby), the boys get to shop and fill their box with presents for an underprivileged kiddo in another part of the world.

Leave them at a local drop off location with the tracking label you downloaded online and a few weeks later find out where in the world your gifts ended up. We then look up that country on the internet to learn more about it.

The drop off deadline is usually the Friday before Thanksgiving. Great way to teach the kids the importance of giving, charity, and learning about new places.
