Lev3l gave us some insight about what went down behind the scenes while working on this project. Read the Q&A below and don’t forget to stream at the link in our bio!🔊

Q: Which track on the EP is your personal favorite and why?

A: Prime Suspect is my personal favorite from this collection. I wanted to push myself to experiment with other bass genres and felt like drum and bass would capture the vibe I was going for. When I was making the tune I remember saying to myself “What would I want to hear on the dance floor?” And the answer to that is bone crushing basses😈

Q: Can you share any interesting anecdotes or stories from the making of this EP?

A: When I was putting together this EP I had one goal in mind: to be as diverse as possible. Giant Trunade was meant to be mysterious and impactful. Face Off Theory is meant to be aggressive and stompy. I was in my feels when I wrote Closer Than A Heartbreak and I think it shows with this one😂 and Prime Suspect is meant to shake your whole body down to its core!

Q: What was your production process like for these tracks?

A: When it comes production I consider myself a perfectionist. Most of these tracks were written in a few days but took months in fine tuning. Testing them at shows, paying attention to the crowd reactions and seeing if anything is missing while playing them out. Sometimes after a show I’d immediately hop on my computer and add what the track needed whether it was a change in hi hat grooves or even a better pre drop sample. Gotta put the idea down while it’s hot.
