With everything going on this year, I decided I didn’t have the spoons to look after my veggie bed. Instead I emptied about 12 packs of flower seeds into it.
She is glorious. Chaotically beautiful in a way that goes against every ‘rule’ on how to make flowers thrive.
I love her

For the last 3 years I have only got a single blueberry off my blueberry bush. This year, I was told they’re very thirsty (can relate) and need LOADS of water.
Well, this is the second haul this year - it’s not going to make a pie, but I’m pretty happy 😁

This fundamentally changes how we view RSD and the impact it has on us and the people around us. I couldn’t ever really explain why RSD was such a thing (and would inevitably get the ‘oh everyone hates getting negative feedback’ response when I tried).
But it is exactly this - overwhelming anxiety and SELF-HATRED!
Still hard to explain to anyone who hasn’t felt the crushing weight of self-loathing in this way, but it is infinitely easier to understand when put this way.

Having an absolute blast at with the incredible Astrid and team. If they could bottle this, I’d take it daily as the perfect antidote to burnout, stress, and general malaise.

It's here! Episode 2 of PB's Productions - My ADHD Kids podcast, it out now on all major podcast players.

This podcast is by an ADHD kid, for ADHD kids and for everyone who is lucky enough to have an ADHD kid or know an ADHD kid.

PB is now 8 years old and wanted to share her experience with having ADHD in the hope that it will help grown ups to understand ADHD kids a little bit better and to hopefully make other ADHD kids feel a little bit less alone.

In today's episode, PB talks about one of the biggest challenges she has - sleep. Getting to sleep, staying asleep, things that can make it worse and things that can help. She gives her top tips and tools for things that she finds helpful to calm her busy mind when it's going boom like fireworks and stopping her from sleeping. PB spends a bit of time talking about scary thoughts and how these tend to happen more at night time.

Iiiiit's Episode 30!!! This will be the last episode for this season before we take a teeny tiny break. There's a lot going on and we are going to recharge our batteries before coming back even stronger! Will Callie finally figure out remote recording? YES SHE WILL! Maybe... hopefully.

In this episode, we explore the connection between ADHD and Intuition - we know that as an ADHDer you have wondered if you have more intuition than other people. We hear you and we're going to look into it.

Topics covered:

Beard chat - this thing pretty much has its own postal code!
Threads - is it good?
Is this the end of the world?
Pattern recognition, mimicry, and hyperawareness
Rituals, deja vu, and spirituality - do ADHDers have a 6th sense?
Magic versus neuroscience

Sidequests:

90s song lyrics - we ollld
WAP CPR
Was Merlin neurodivergent?
Nursery rhymes and superstitions
History is written by the victor - why are women always evil?

This is my mini-me. My neuromagical, utter legend of a kid - PB.
Finding out about her magic brain made me take ownership and responsibility of my own, and now I continue to grow and learn as she does.
I take the responsibility of creating a space that allows her grow up while exploring her brain rather than hiding it in shame, very seriously.
If this emerging ‘generation’ of late diagnosed ADHDers do nothing else, we WILL stop the cycle of shame and isolation for those who are coming up behind us.
Love you baby girl, and love to everyone else who has learnt about themselves through their commitment to their children. May we all have the privilege of having a neurospicy kid in our life.

It's a common misconception that ADHDers lie. The truth (ha!) is far more complex that simply lying. We live in a fragile structure of multiple masks, a constant fear of rejection and ever-present shame about yet again forgetting something or being late, which leads to some... embellishments. But we're actually pretty much incapable of flat out lying.

It's episode 27! Sharna is back and we are going deep into the tricky subject of ADHD and lying. This is one of the most challenging and shameful things that comes with having a neuromagical brain. We pull apart the various things that contribute to the common misconception that ADHDers are compulsive liars, and dig into the elements that actually happen and why they can make it seem like we're lying. We also look at the fact that many neurodivergent people simply cannot actually lie and what does this contradiction mean for navigating the multitude of relationships we need to on a daily basis. This was a fascinating subject and we all learnt a lot about ourselves doing the research for this one.

Topics covered:

Listener Question: How to communicate authentically when you're incapable of lying?
Exaggeration and embellishment
Lying to avoid rejection
Is masking basically lying?
lying vs surviving
when someone else lies... WE KNOW!

Sidequests:

Beards and bacteria
'Neurospicy' has been cancelled
The ADHD situational personality

ADHDers have to constantly police ourselves to make sure we're meeting the communication expectations of neurotypical spaces. It can't all be one-way. There are so many neurodivergent people, (we're literally everywhere) there has to be a broader conversation and rethinking of these expectations.

Dr Di is back for episode 26! This is her third visit and today she is taking us through some of the challenges some ADHDers have with food and obesity.

We want to be clear, we are not here for any form of size-shaming nor do we believe that larger bodies are in any way bad or wrong. What is interesting is looking at the sensory issues that might be affecting your relationship with food and how when we go looking for dopamine, sometimes that means we empty the pantry - this isn't a good thing in many ways! As Dr Di is a scientist and a Doctor, she explains some of the medications that could be used for treating some of these dopamine and mood challenges. Another reminder that if you have ANY questions about treatments or medications, you need to speak with your health care provider and do not take this as advice, because it absolutely isn't.

Topics covered:

RSD vs Narcisism
Exaggeration - it's a thing!
Lifesavers taste test
Food avoidance
Dopamining (I'm totally claiming this)
Types of taste that we crave

Sidequests:

The correct way to hang toilet paper
Colonoscopy prep
Hermione Grainger is autistic
ADHD, Autism and email hell
