WELCOME TO 2024! It's been a minute.

As the year starts to spool up business wise, let's keep in mind that VIDEO - is practically THE most important marketing took in a small business owners toolbox. It only takes 3 SECONDS to lose a potential customer's attention span and therefore it means you have 3 SECONDS to acquire it! Video is the key to grabbing it by the horns.

So let's throw back the clock. In 2023 Moman Productions was approached by Home Affordability Solutions to produce a bespoke animated cartoon explaining their premiere home buying product, while at the same time entertaining the viewer.

The wanted a Superhero to carry the weight of the cartoon - one that they would continually use for all of their branding online and off.

What we came up with is unique, satisfied our clients and sold well to their customers. See for yourself!

I am now VP of Defence Industry Networking's NSW Chapter, helping organize our monthly events and other special activities for the organization.

Defence Industry Networking is Australia's fastest growing network of active, retired and working military and civilian personnel involved in the defence industry here in Australia.

Only a little over a year and a half ago we were around 60 people nationwide. We are now over 11 THOUSAND and growing.

Our point of difference amongst all other networking organizations is that we have absolutely NO MEMBERSHIP FEES, NO AGENDAS, and NO EXPECTATIONS.

SOME FRIDAY INSPIRATION!

My US Army Basic Training Yearbook with my “what the HELL am I doing here” photo inset!!

It was just two weeks into basic training at Fort Polk, Louisiana. And I just like all the other thousands of recruits, suddenly were awash with what HELL were we doing in Uncle Sam’s Army. Whimpering could be heard from every bunk, including mine. I thought of home, the friends I’d left behind and my family.

But just two weeks later, I was in drill formation being led through cadence by my Drill Sergeant so excited, that I felt like I was in the infamous basic training scenes of Full Metal Jacket!

Then weeks later, I had completed my first 5 mile obstacle course; muddied up and totally exhausted, high fiving my teammates accomplishing tasks I’d NEVER been able to do back on the streets of New York City.

And then a few months later on a bouncing USAF C-130, I was the second one out the door at the US Army Jump School in Fort Benning, Georgia – so excited to have volunteered to join the Army and also, volunteer to be a Paratrooper.

And finally just weeks later I was covered up in heavy camouflage at night. The 40 plus kilos of my specialized civvie pack on my back, patrolling at a snail’s pace at night on a team of six. I employed count beads to measure distance, taking timed security halts on the orders of my Team Leader just to listen to the silence around us. I was now a proud member of the Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol.

It was all something my friends and even my family, NEVER thought I'd be able to do.

Now push forward many years – and here I am reminiscing about those days as I sit in front of my computer typing out a proposal for a potential client! Those days are etched in my mind like a tattoo as with any military veteran. So I just had to stop what I was doing – and write about it!

If it wasn’t for those lessons I’d learned in the Army – I’d NEVER have the strength to be a small business owner.

I’ve had many “what am I doing here” moments in business, as I’m sure everyone does. But as I saw in the Army; as time moves forward and you see your successes mount, you realize that the discomfort you felt at that very moment doesn’t compare to the accomplishments you will achieve – IF YOU STICK WITH IT.

An important lesson for that 23 year old kid in that photo, which still holds true today.

Now. Back to finishing that proposal!

Going, Going, GONE!!

This small group of business owners are part of a larger networking group I belonged to, called Business Networking International - or .

BNI literally has THOUSANDS of Chapters across the globe. And they all contain small business owners who are forever eager to trade business and better their skills at owning one.

After just over 3 and 1/2 years, I have decided to retire from my Chapter, called Network Collective. If only due to the amount of positive activity going on within Moman Production's core group of clientele, which is outside the organization in healthcare and defence.

But I'll never forget these people. And the support they all gave me through the DARKEST of times. It's been ABSOLUTELY priceless.

Some people call it a "cult", some people even call it a "pyramid scheme." Take it from me - it ISN'T.

It's a community of like minded business owners who are dedicated to building their businesses while at the same time - helping one another grow professionally AND emotionally.

And to that I'll forever be in their debt.

MOMAN PRODUCTIONS - A VETERAN OWNED MEDIA BUSINESS...

is STARSTRUCK!! This is myself, former Queensland Premier Anna Bligh and documentary film maker Jeff Hughes.

Jeff is producing a film on the Australian Hospital Ship Centaur - sunk by the Japanese in 1943 during World War Two killing over 200 doctors, nurses and staff. It was presumably lost forever - until it was discovered while Anna Bligh was Queensland Premier.

Today she shared her thoughts and feelings about the discovery of that ship and it's importance to Australia's military history.

Concord Hospital's yearlong videography project has begun! I just had to get a quick happy snap with Mike, our interviewer for Concord's Bereavement and Counseling Department.

This project deals with Post Traumatic Stress and emotional support for those that care for us when we are sick - doctors and nurses within the Sydney Local Health District. An incredibly important subject, that just doesn't get the publicity it deserves...until NOW.

I am incredibly proud to have this project up and running and so inspired that Concord Hospital chose ME to document this challenging and compelling subject.

MOMAN PRODUCTIONS HAS A HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!!

Nine months in the making, I can finally announce that I have signed my biggest contract to date - one year's worth of videography to Sydney Local Health District's Concord Hospital!!

I will be providing videography services to their Palliative Care and Bereavement Department on an amazing project, and it's one that doesn't get much exposure in society; PTSD and emotional support for doctors AND nursing staff.

Anyone that knows me understands this subject is a close one and hits home. I'm so glad to be onboard with this project and look forward to working with Concord Hospital and their staff in the future.

It goes without saying MANY THANKS to the people who supported me. You all KNOW who you are. I will reach out and thank you all personally.

And finally, this cheap 10 dollar bottle of Champagne sat in my fridge for the last nine months in anticipation of this event. Guess what?

MOMAN PRODUCTIONS REUNITES WITH AN INDUSTRY LEADER!

I must give some professional kudos here. I have Director of Videography on my resume thanks to this man; Justin Jowett, founder of BoothCon.

5 years ago he gave me a chance and asked me to join him on his journey unveiling Australia’s only photobooth convention to the masses. This journey took me year after year to different cities across Australia and even to Las Vegas for my first international job as the Director of Videography for the BoothCon/Photobooth Expo.

Without this man’s help I couldn’t have grown not only as a videographer but also as an editor and animator.

Kudos Justin on putting BoothCon on the map. And best wishes to you and your family’s upcoming stay in Germany. Your sharp business acumen will carry well on your next business venture in the Land of Efficiency.

During the Indo Pacific 2022 Maritime Exhibition, the largest naval military expo in Australia, we were lucky enough to be granted an interview by General Atomics – creators of some of the best military drones on the planet. From the MQ-9 Reaper, to the Predator, to the Avenger, General Atomics is growing from strength to strength in regards to aerial surveillance and defense systems.

Yet another area in which they are growing - is electromagnetism. Here in MILSPEC’s debut video GA’s Jerome Gormley speaks about the new Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS). Its standard on all the USS Gerald Ford Class of Supercarriers and here he explains the role it plays in getting aircraft off that carrier deck quickly and efficiently.

BEHIND THE SCENES: TOP GUNS!!

During Sydney’s Indo Pacific 2022 International Maritime Exposition, probably the biggest Naval Convention in Australia, General Atomics was nice enough to grant me a fascinating interview on their Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System, a real game changer for getting US Navy planes in the air off aircraft carriers with absolute efficiency.

Here I’m cutting up raw footage taken from the USS Gerald Ford (CVN - 78), the latest nuclear powered super carrier that uses this catapult system. This will be B-Roll for our interview (which is coming soon).
