It was sunny nearly every day during this year’s IBCShow. Yet, when walking across the crowded halls it felt like a 3-day storm event.. in a metaphorical and positive way.
Lunch breaks were shorter (or were skipped) and we kept running from meeting to meeting.
We are truly grateful for all the shares and the ideas that will inspire the coming technology projects.
At the same time we would like to invite all of those we couldn’t talk to as long as they would have needed and those we missed at the event to (re)connect either virtually or in person.

What are you currently up to?
It’s easy to guess if you are an industry peer. You are prepping for the coming IBCShow that will allow all of us to gain insights, progress projects, inspire new strategies and build relationships.
Many meetings with both customers and suppliers have been set up.
Yet, we are still open to on-site meetings with companies that are either in the process of investing in new technologies or need technology experts to consult on their current issues.

Our primary focus, however, is not on the technology itself, it is on our customers’ bottom line and suppliers’ business expansion.

We deliver and implement solutions that provide a clear return on investment and add value to the content you offer. Our expertise covers the whole technology chain (broadcast, IT and telecom) from architecture to installation, from consultancy to delivery.

What a big announcement…. right before the 2023 NABShow!
We are excited to announce today that Henri Vander Stichele will be joining the VPMS team as sole shareholder. Speaking of the new development, CEO Emmanuel Charlet said: “Henri’s energy and expertise will allow VPMS to maintain the independence, agility and flexibility that have been key to our services thus far; adapting and evolving with the market and the needs of our media and telecoms partners. We are truly excited about the path forward together”.

How will broadcast services evolve in 2023? Abundance vs shortage…

From a consumer perspective it’s going to be an even more enjoyable experience thanks to abundant content provision and access to multiple platforms. Streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime will continue to dominate the market together with watch-on-demand live TV channels covering sports and news.

On the other side of the entertainment industry though, manufacturers will be still impacted by the chip shortage in 2023. There will be the need for rethinking, reengineering, investing in new chip production technologies and/or relying on alternative sources of chips.
We’re ready to be part of this ‘reshaping’ process and will be supporting our suppliers and clients both on the strategic and technology side.
Knowledge, expertise and creative thinking will be vital in finding, together, long-term solutions for the supply chain.

Like most of our industry peers we spend time coping with deadlines such as shows, installments, repairs, meetings etc. Meanwhile though, we keep on investing in time making sure that even Summer holidays won’t create any disruptions in our services. Being involved in both IT and Broadcast projects we know that many of our customers, like broadcasters, are in need for 24/7 monitoring and support.
That’s why we invested in training our staff to ensure a flawless service.

We truly liked being back in Vegas after three years. Face-to-face conversations inspired the industry and finally new business opportunities were generated within the human dimension that goes beyond any daily business.

When a change, like moving to a new building, creates great opportunities.
That’s what happened when RTBF asked us for supporting the renewal of its linear playout platform in view of its relocation in 2024.
Truly grateful for being awarded with this new project that will set the basis for a cutting-edge technology implementation.

The new ST2110-ready and IP-based platform, which we will be providing together with our technology partners Hexaglobe SGT and Harmonic, will control and manage multiple endpoints like the traditional playout channels, the live OTT and cloud-based streams through a single pane of glass.
This solution fully integrates vital functionalities such as the master control, (live) subtitling and grooming for ad insertion or replacement.

Why do we need to be in Vegas?
You might imagine that we love gambling.
Well, if you work in the broadcast industry, you might know that the NAB Show in Las Vegas is where content professionals from all areas of the media, entertainment and technology meet.
The wait is over (the last NAB Show was in 2019..) and we are all scheduled to be there in that space where innovation plays a key role and where like-minded people enjoy innovation.

When trust delivers quality..
Every project differs in terms of requirements and context. Yet, each project starts with trust.

This time our expertise was requested by ‘Cercle de Wallonie’, a leading business club in French-speaking Belgium.
We designed and built ‘Studio Ecolys’ to provide digital audiovisual and TV studio services to their high qualified members who are active in private, public and academic sectors. The 120m3 NDI-based studio, controlling the 4K IP workflows, has been fully equipped including network functionalities, green screen, five robotic cameras and lighting. In addition we also supplied mobile kits for field production and Adobe Première solutions for editing.
