Project Spotlight 🔦 I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!

I’m A Celebrity returned in the winter of 2023 with an all-star cast.

With the return of the popular programme, and with an iconic selection of camp mates, ITV knew that interacting with their viewers through iconic content moments and community management was key for the duration of the show being on air.

Working closely with the ITV team and the I’m A Celebrity production team, we worked on teasing the show coming as well as giving round the clock content and community management support for the show on both the ITV and ITVX platforms.

We provided live content creation every night to capitalise on those iconic jungle moments (of which there were many!) and ensured that these were shared on social to keep up with the conversation.

As well as content creation and community management, we also kept a close eye on conversations around individual camp mates to ensure a thorough report back to the ITV team to ensure we were acting with the correct duty of care.

Big Brother returned in the autumn of 2023 on its new home, ITV and ITVX

With such an iconic series, ITV knew that viewers would be keen to see as much content as possible around not only the house and the housemates, but also the iconic eye logo.

Working closely with the ITV team and the Big Brother production team, we worked on teasing the show coming as well as giving round the clock content and community management support for the show on both the ITV and ITVX’s platforms.

What a return for this iconic show, and we can't wait to see what the next series has in store!

Ruby Wax was looking for a social team with experience in entertainment to not only grow and help manage her social media presence, but to also work closely with her wider team on promoting her many projects, partnerships and campaigns. This also included working closely with her mental health charity, Frazzled Café, to help spread the word about the amazing work they do facilitating safe spaces for people to come and talk with others about their own mental health struggles.

Not only is Ruby a well-known TV personality, she is also a passionate mental health campaigner and has been awarded an OBE for her services to mental health. She’s a best-selling author and has penned seven books to date, from mindfulness guides to modern day musings.

In 2023 she released her latest book, I’m Not As Well As I Thought I Was, which she then toured across the country as a one-woman show of the same name.

We worked closely with Ruby to understand her priorities and ambitions with her social media as well as her projects and campaigns to ensure that her social media management felt like an extension of Ruby herself.

Beavertown is the much-loved Out Of This World Beer, Drank On Earth. Famous for their colourful cans and their award-winning beers, with recognisable names from Gamma Ray through to Neck Oil, Beavertown Brewery is one of the coolest beer brands in a crowded alcohol market.

When Beavertown approached us about their latest venture, we jumped at the chance to be working with such a recognisable and loved brand, and one we personally enjoyed ourselves!

Sticking with their roots in North London, Beavertown took over the site of the old Tottenham Hotspur ticket office and created the Corner Pin Pub - a portal into the Beavertown Universe.

Set over three floors with a beer garden and kitchen serving up stacks of crowd-pleasers, Corner Pin was destined to become a big hit. So with this exciting new site, Beavertown tasked us with taking over their community management to help manage booking enquiries, customer questions and audience engagement in their already brilliant brand tone of voice, with a little Social Voltage flavour.

Through the testimony of whistle-blowers, journalists and lovers we reveal how Macchiarini lied to his colleagues, committed research misconduct, and performed cutting edge surgery without prior testing. Macchiarini inserted at least 8 plastic windpipes into patients, all of whom bar one died.

Artemis Fowl - 20th Anniversary
April 2021 marked 20 years since the first Artemis Fowl book was released into the world, unleashing Fairies, Dwarves, Gnomes, and of course the incorrigible Artemis Fowl onto us all.

To mark this momentous occasion, we decided to do something a little different and deliver a fan experience across the Puffin social channels.

We worked closely with author Eoin Colfer to write a very special 20th-anniversary message for both Artemis Fowl and the fans and converted this into a coded message using the Gnomish alphabet, for super fans to crack.

Fans loved cracking the code and we saw a great response for the activity.

Channel 4 x Visit Britain

Comedian Rosie Jones went on a mission to discover how inclusive and accessible travel in the UK can be, and in each episode was accompanied by a fellow comedian.

Heading across England, Scotland and Wales to stress-test exciting hot spots, adventure activities and notoriously inaccessible locations, Rosie along with Channel 4 put together a guide to taking short and accessible breaks in the UK.

Working with the Channel 4 commercial team and Visit Britain, we had a number of creative social assets created with accompanying copy to help promote the show, and each episode as it was released.

We wanted to ensure that each social platform was catered for and had almost 30 pieces of content made for the 4 episodes, all subtitled to ensure accessibility was considered at all points.

Britbox x Spitting Image

To launch the brand new series of Spitting Image, we worked with the BritBoxTV team to formulate a community management plan to not only monitor all conversation and mentions around the show, but to also tap into similar fan groups who might also enjoy viewing the show.

The return of Spitting Image was an exciting launch for the platform as it was the first BritBox Original, and the return of an 80s classic with a 2020 twist.

We worked closely with the marketing team to make sure we were making the most of the social talking points when managing the community and worked in tandem with BritBox’s social media team to make sure we could collaborate on content going out from the social pages.

Using social listening, we were also able to feedback to the production and content teams about which characters were being talked about on social and in what capacity to feed into our content plans.

After 6 weeks of rehearsals at The Playground Theatre and a handful of preview nights, the tour kicked things off in Brighton.

It's been a while since we've shared any client work but It's been a busy few months gearing up for the publication of Ruby Wax's newest book, I'm Not As Well As I Thought I Was, and her supporting tour of the same name which started in Brighton last night.

With interviews and appearances on Sky News, GMB, Loose Women, The Observer, The Sun on Sunday, Magic FM, BBC Radio 2, The Times Radio and LBC, to name a few. An array of bookshop signings, festival appearances. and reaching no. 4 on the Sunday Times Bestsellers list.

What is an influencer? With so many people claiming to be 'influencers', it's often hard to know where to draw the line.

Generally speaking, an influencer is someone within your industry or niche who has influence over a target audience.

They have specialised knowledge, experience or authority on a specific subject, and this can make them a valuable asset to a brand looking to expand within that specific niche.

According to Sprout Social in 2017 85% of marketers engaged in some kind of influencer marketing, and 92% said their campaigns were effective.

So what types of influencers are there?

Influencers used to be celebrities or people with large social media followings who would be seen as appealing to brands due to the size of their audience, but with changing consumer perceptions, the idea of an influencer has evolved.

Currently, influencers tend to sit in one of the camps below:
👉 Celebrities - Athletes, musicians and artists
👉 Industry experts - thought-leaders and people with extensive industry experience
👉 Bloggers - Bloggers, Vloggers and other content creators
👉 Micro influencers - People with humble followings who others look to with respect and trust

Micro-influencers have grown in popularity over the last few years due to the saturation of larger influencers and people being overwhelmed with recommendations and product pushes. In recent years, people are turning more to micro-influencers, family and friends for product recommendations and influence.

So how do you work with an influencer?
Generally, there are three ways that brands do this:
👉 Gifting - offering an influencer product in exchange for social content
👉 Sponsored posts - working with an influencer to create a sponsored (paid for) post or shout out for your brand
👉 Guest spots / takeovers - partnering with an influencer to 'take over' your socials for the day or to write a guest article or blog for your site

There are also lots of guidelines you need to stick to when working with influencers (e.g. how they declare the partnership or tag the post) so make sure you know the rules before embarking on this kind of marketing or you could get stung 🐝

A question we get asked time and time again, "How do I grow my Instagram account?" 🤔

There's no one-trick pony approach guaranteed to take you from 0-1k followers (despite what many accounts on Instagram might tell you), BUT there are a few things you can start implementing to ensure your account continues to grow, so let us share a few of these with you:

⚡ Optimise your bio
Your bio is the first thing people will see when landing on your account so make sure it's clear exactly what you do and how/who you help. This is your first point of contact so make it count.

⚡ Engage
Social media isn't a one-way conversation, it's a dialogue. Posting content and hoping for engagement in return isn't a guarantee, you need to be prepared to engage with your audience to encourage them to engage with you in return.

⚡ Hashtags
Hashtags help your content to be featured in the right areas, so make sure you're using the right ones. A mix of larger and smaller hashtags are good, but don't go over anything with 1m posts and be sure to use the maximum 30 hashtags in your post.

⚡ Utilise Stories
Stories are the first thing people engage with when opening the app, so make sure you are using them.

⚡ Reels + Guides
Reels and Guides are the newest roll-outs on the platform so make sure you're using them! Generally, newer features on the platform have the highest amount of eyeballs on them, so get in there quick.

⚡ Be consistent with your content
If people are interested in you and your content then they're likely to follow and engage, so if you're seeing growth don't be tempted to try something wildly different. Stay consistent with your output.

⚡ Avoid fake followers
Growing an account can take time, and you might be tempted to just pay for followers as a quick win - AVOID THIS AT ALL COSTS. You'll be wasting your money on fake accounts, potentially flag your account to Instagram as spam and also completely ruin your engagement.

Why is building and managing an online community so important? 💛

You can create the best product on earth, and you could be creating incredible content to showcase it, but without strong community management and engagement, your brand success could be stunted.

A strong community management plan can really make or break a brand online. I'm sure everyone of you can think of a time where a brand went the extra mile to make you feel looked after when getting in touch with them, and equally I'm sure you can remember a time when another brand had the opposite effect on you. You'll be able to see clearly how both approaches differed and what impression each gave you of that brand and how they treat their customers.

A great community manager will be able to keep up your brand's reputation, engage your audience and keep them excited about what your next move will be, and they will also be able to keep a finger on the pulse of what is trending and exciting opportunities for your brand.

Community management is so valuable, and getting it right it absolutely key! It allows you to speak directly to your customer base and be able to rectify issues before they spiral out of control.

Equally not building a community and not engaging them can have the opposite effect. People can feel like your brand doesn't care about its customers, that they have no choice but to air their opinions about your brand elsewhere, and this is where issues can arise.

So take some time to really look at the community you're building and ask yourself what else you can be doing to grow this group and how you can super-serve them and make them keep coming back to you, and better yet to keep recommending your brand to others.
