In true OTB style, our conversation focused on building & sustaining dance communities in the diaspora while thinking critically about a more diverse, equitable, & inclusive dance future. She has been studying Kandyan dance for nearly 25 years, & she started performing internationally since the age of 12. Thaji’s interview was recorded just as the political and economic crisis was unfolding in Sri Lanka. Our hearts are with the people of Sri Lanka, & our solidarity is with those working to build a more equitable future there.
