MY FREELANCE STORY
Hi, I'm Jun Young the freelance web developer. It's been a year since I started as a freelancer and I want to share my story so far. I had just graduated when I started my career in August 2020. My first job was to help a health and beauty products retail business in Pasig. Together with a team, we worked on:
Managing a registration platform for resellers of the company
Set
up social media accounts and marketing strategies
Creating an e-commerce platform for the company
I then moved to Manila and helped a local tuna restaurant. My task included:
Setting up a Google Business Account for the establishment. Boosting sales through social media marketing
Getting in touch with different groups on Facebook
Later that year I decided to pursue a more professional approach in my career. So I took a 21-days training by DICT for online freelancing. I graduated from this training with flying colors and immediately got a job as a lead developer for a US client's online coaching business. Here I worked with the following tasks
Managing the company's website and online course platform
Building sales funnels
Creating contents for blogs and sales letters
Organizing the company's CRM
I have learned a lot of things in my past 1 year of experience and I am continuously striving to develop as a freelance web developer. I hope this inspires other aspiring freelancers to get a better view of the career path they have taken. Things may be rough and confusing at times but keeping a singular focus and determination is the key factor in succeeding in our field.
