Ice growth in the polar regions usually happens in the fall and winter. However, the warm water temperatures are delaying the ice growth. Additionally, in the following spring and summer, the ice melts faster. The rapid changes in the sea ice alter the circulation of the ocean, causing sea level rises, storms, and other natural disasters, risking the livelihood of every human and animal on the planet.
