I’m a free market capitalist at heart.

I feel profit is not inherently bad. What is bad is if the drive for profit is from the result of something that is directly linked to a harm that otherwise would not have manifested had it not been for those additional profits.

Example… let’s say we have an industry that deals with pharmaceutical responses to infectious diseases.

Let’s say that a disease pops up out of the blue and creates havoc around the world. For the sake of this example… let’s not get wrapped around the axel about the origins of said disease.

So we have an industry & a disease. Hypothetically.

So in this scenario… if there are groups of doctors that are taking their Hippocratic Oath seriously… working to find currently available options to effectively deal with that disease… and they stumble upon a widely available option that is effective… but each pill only costs $0.02, is it appropriate for the industry at large to levy a smear campaign on those doctors and options?

Further… when an organization focused on the health of the world commissions a doctor to conduct a review of the current studies on the aforementioned available option… he concludes that it is indeed effective… that he has a 1 in 7,000 chance of being wrong… and that organization CHANGES HIS CONCLUSIONS?

Could you see how someone could come to the conclusion that it may have never been about health… but all about profit instead?

There will be a day of reckoning for those who are working to silence doctors driven by results in improved health… NOT profits.

I’m going to do my best to take ‘it can’t get any worse’ out of my lexicon.

I mean… seriously.

It literally invites the universe to say, “Hold my beer.”

Instead… I’m going to say, “We can do better.”

In some cases… A LOT better.

It just seems a much more realistic position from which to have meaningful conversations about things.

Let’s be honest… legitimate history makes discussing election laws very volatile. To deny that is to deny reality.

That said… we need to be able to talk about these things without it devolving into who can come up with the best insults. That may be entertaining from a linguistically creative standpoint… but works to solve absolutely nothing.

The foundation of my comments about this topic revolves around 3 basic principles.

1). Access
2). Security
3). Confidence

How that looks in as succinct a statement as possible…

Ensuring all legal voters have access to vote once, in a secure manner, will lead to higher levels of confidence for both the winners and those who fell short.

The bottom line is that this nation is divided. Any efforts to bridge that gap without addressing these tenets is wasted effort in my opinion. It would be like building a house of cards, outside, on a windy day, on a 4 legged table that’s missing a leg, setting on a pontoon boat, in Lake Borgne near New Orleans during Mardi Gras and Café Du Monde is running a special on beignets.

Off balance, distracted & and mad because you are hungry and can’t get at them beignets.

It’s been too long…

It’s been a while. Since before the election actually. But hey… I’ve had a lot to think about. I’ve been quite active on my personal page… but this is where I’m going to publish stuff from now on. It’s time to take this brand to the next level.

Much has happened since I last posted something here… and I’ll do my best to get to all of that… but here and now, I want to begin addressing Afghanistan. I say “begin” because it’s not feasible for me to cover all the important bits in one shot. I mean… I could do it, but I suspect that this post is already too long. 😁

There will be plenty of time to dissect all the poor decisions from a tactical perspective and the strategic fall out we’ll be dealing with for decades… but right now, I want to address the elephant in some of the rooms out there.

While I would completely support the impeachment of President Joe Biden for the way he handled the draw down in Afghanistan, I honestly do not believe it’s in the best interest of the country to actively pursue such a course of action at this time.

Such a move will drive the wedge even further between “the sides.”

In my opinion… the best thing we can do is to not let the media flip the page onto the next bit of “OH LOOK… SQUIRREL!!!” It’s already happening. It’s impossible to deny that it’s happening. But we shan’t let them.

There are some folks who should be ashamed of themselves for getting it so profoundly wrong throughout the course of the last several months… and that shame ought to lead to some resignations. But I believe today’s political climate won’t allow for that. It would be a sign of confessing wrong doing… and it really seems that neither party wants to admit any fault.

This force that prevents anyone from taking honest accountability for their screw ups is dangerous… and it needs to be stopped.

We need healthy debate in the political and public sphere… we need Big Tech to allow that debate… we need elections that EVERY LEGAL LIVING voter has access to ONLY VOTE ONCE… and we need to deal with it at the ballot box.

This will be the only way to unite the country… with everyone having confidence in our systems.

Because right now… it seems “the sides” don’t trust each other enough to even have a conversation at this point.

Let’s stop kicking the can down the road and start right here… right now.

And if you haven’t been knocked down, you haven’t lived. Reaching the promise land after an easy journey is rather empty. There really is no relief from the grueling road to embrace. The struggle makes the taste of victory that much more sweet!

Hey folks... yes... more vids are forthcoming.

But this is an opportunity to have sort of a civics lesson so to speak.

There is a current situation that needs to be addressed... 2 things going on here...

1) Normal annual federal spending bill

AND

2) COVID19 stimulus package

Yes... they are separate.

While I am really not spun up on exactly what is in either bill, I am certain of 2 facts...

1) we are only personally receiving $600

AND

2) the rest of both bills is going to other s**t.

Sorry, not sorry for the crassness.

If there is any kind of silver lining to all this... it’s that perhaps it’s past time that we take a long hard look at things we subsidize. Maybe reevaluate our mechanism for determining what is acceptable with regards to measuring ROI.

Who knows? I have thoughts about this. I am sure you do as well. But here is a vid of a guy that usually is on point. Enjoy

We live in exciting times. Much has happened since I’ve posted a video. And trust I will continue in due time.

I just wanted to post something to reiterate the very premise of my show... that there are only 2 outcomes when we stop communication: isolation & violence.

Also... I wanted to praise the work of Daryl Davis. If this is the first time you have seen that name, that’s sad. Let me help rectify that...

Mr. Davis is an American R&B and blues musician, activist, author, actor and bandleader. His efforts to improve race relations, in which as an African-American he engaged with members of the Ku Klux Klan, convinced Klansmen to leave and denounce the K*K. (Wikipedia)

Because you can’t legislate thoughts & feelings, Mr. Davis understands that the only way to effectively deal with generational hate is to actively engage it with the intent to dispel the preconceived thinking that feeds that hate.

If more people were like Daryl Davis, the future would get brighter quicker with regards to race relations... because it is clear that no piece of paper, no matter how many signatures are on it, will ever compel folks to feel any kind of way about race. Neither will physical or emotional blunt force trauma.

2020 has tested us all. No need to get into a battle scar contest. The biggest toll perhaps is friendship. It's quite easy to count on people when things are going your way. As with character, friendship is only as strong as the depth of struggle it can withstand.

I want to dispel the theory that I must maintain neutrality in order to assassinate Echo Chambers.

That is simply not true. I embrace my biases AND I welcome anyone to the discussion despite thiers.

History provides ample evidence of the dangers that "cancelling" can have on society.

The key is to not be an as***le. Sure, I can cross that line with ease... but that's usually my 3rd or 4th move... hardly ever my first. Do I slip and start off in venge mode? Yes. I never claimed to walk on water. Well... at least not water that isn't frozen. 😁

Try and reach out to someone who you have pushed away recently and ask why they feel the way you do. Will it amount to anything? Who knows? But at least you will have taken the first step in ridding the world of Echo Chambers!

Look... you are probably wondering why I am actually posting a story from CNN. Sometimes a blind squirrel finds a nut I guess.

This story is a sign of some serious garbage we need to figure out.

We all grew up with all the stereotypes. We could probably list them off and laugh at how often we heard them all growing up... or how sometimes there is more truth to them than we care t admit.

But damn it... we can do better.

This is the challenge... these things are getting in the way of addressing the real need to have meaningful interaction to help get past the bulls**t legacy of hate that has been passed down for generations... because like I said the other day, “Hate is a learned behavior.”

1. Non-American citizen

2. Dead or comatose

3. Under the age of 18 (although I would entertain raising this to match the drinking age)

4. Using someone else’s identity to cast a vote

5. Attempting to cast more than one ballot for the same election in the same or different precinct/state (only first vote shall count)

6. Whatever the law states with respect to persons with mental disabilities (and “they are [insert political party here]” does not qualify... it’s funny, but no.)
