Nutrient-dense foods are rich in vitamins, minerals and other nutrients important to our health.

FOR A NUTRIENT-DENSE AND HEART-HEALTHY DIETARY PATTERN:

Eat a variety of fruit and vegetables.

Eat whole grains.

Include healthy sources of protein, mostly from plant sources (legumes and nuts), fish and seafood, fat-free or low-fat dairy, lean cuts of unprocessed meat and skinless poultry.

Eat nuts and legumes.

Limit red and processed meats, sodium, added sugars and alcohol.

Delicious pumpkin pie packed with protein for a more balanced option this holiday season! 🎃🥧💪🏽

Ingredients:
Pre made pie crust (you can make your own if you want)
15 oz canned pumpkin
¾ tsp cinnamon
¾ tsp pumpkin pie spice
½ tsp salt
1 scoop pumpkin spice latte protein
1 scoop vanilla protein
1 cup milk (I used fat free fairlife)
2 eggs

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 325
Mix ingredients together
Pour pie mix into crust
Bake for 45-55 minutes
Let cool
Enjoy!

Optional:
Add some fat free whipped cream (or regular, I’m not here to tell you it has to be fat free) and pumpkin spice seasoning on top!

“Murph” is a classic CrossFit workout known as a Hero WOD. Hero WOD's are made by CrossFit to honor the men and women that have fallen in the line of duty. This one is specifically to honor Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on June 28th, 2005.

One of the biggest things I struggled with in the beginning of my health journey, was learning to control my portions.

I was notorious for the binge and purge lifestyle that really hurt me more than helped me. In a big way.

A few things I’ve practiced in the last couple of years that have really showed drastic changes in my weight and shape are:

▪️ Staying hydrated

▪️ Prioritizing protein

▪️ Practicing the plate method

▪️ Planning ahead or at least having some sort of food game plan
