So this planting season, I tried a different approach. I started seeds as usual and when they sprouted I took half and planted them in my peat pots and the other half I planted in plastic cupcake containers that would act as little greenhouses, poked holes in the bottom and left them in a water bath (as I did with the peat pots this year, too). Well, the results speak for themselves. The only problem is the single use plastic, but now that I know it works, I can look into something more multiuse for next year, but YAY!
The pictures in order are the normal method with the peat pots, the next is my basil sprouts in the cupcake containers, and the last is the rest of the first round of seed growth with the new containers.
And yes, I'll do an episode about this next spring.
