Meet our directors, Carlos Cruz (Seattle) and Sam Mendez (Guadalajara). They met on a film set back in 2013, and their friendship flourished from there. Carlos comes from a Live-Action background, while Sam comes from a Stop Motion Animation; their love for similar films and anime united them to collaborate. They have both collaborated on multiple music videos and commercials, intending to make a short film until Velo reached them. They immediately loved the story, not only because of the possibility of making a stop motion short but also because the script's message resonated with both creators personally.
