Hello everyone!

As you may have noticed, the podcast has been MIA - Jamie and I have both been extremely busy recently and have equally as busy futures coming up. Looking at this together we have decided it’s best to put the Bloody Brilliant Podcast on hiatus.

We’ve both loved doing the pod and watching these films with partners and especially you lot but it’s not something either of us can dedicate time to right now.

We appreciate everyone who has given us support and shared our episodes with their friends and family, we hope that one day when we come back you’ll be right there with us but until then, happy hauntings and stay spooky 🥀

I am getting round to watching tonight as it is my first time, hopefully it’ll live up to expectations as a horror classic from the 80’s! - Em 🧛🏻‍♀️

As it is Halloween season, I hope you lovely lot have been taking the opportunity to watch some spooky films, be they old or new.

My other half, Ed, and I watched James Wan’s recent release “Malignant” and I honestly loved it. I thought Wan had done it again and made a great, out of the box horror; Ed on the other hand? Did not like it, thought it was ridiculous and just was not a fan at all. Understandably I was devastated but that’s what happens when you are in a relationship with a non-horror fan 😂

Have you guys seen “Malignant”? What did you think? Maybe you’ve seen something else recently - tell us about it!

Welcome to Horrorwood 🔪

Any horror music fans out there? I’ve been waiting for this album with baited breath and with each single the anticipation built further! It’s been so fun to keep up with the underlying story going through the album and the cut scenes with and the always fabulous James and Chelsea from !

Well yesterday was the first time I listened to the full album and it was 😚👌🏻 *chefs kiss* what a masterpiece in my eyes!

What do you guys think? Have you heard it yet? Were you able to pick out the little homages to horror through the decades? - Em 🧛🏻‍♀️

Again, we did try to be as spoiler free as possible and I am pretty sure we succeeded, so there will be brief talk about the recent release of Candyman (2021) but the chunk of the pod will be the original Candyman (1992) which is one of my absolute favourites! - Em 🧛🏻‍♀️

Childhood's over the moment you know you’re gonna die 👁‍🗨

The Crow (1994) directed by Alex Proyas has got to be one of the most enduring cult classics of cinema, I think this is sadly due to Brandon Lee’s untimely passing whilst filming that cements it in film history but my question is; is it a horror?

It appeared, to my delight, on a ‘100 must see Horror Films’ poster where you scratch off the tile once you watch the film and my other half asked “Does it even count as a horror film?” and it got me thinking…

Gothic is probably better wording, but what do you think? Thoughts on the horror categorising? Correct or maybe way off the mark?

Everyone collects something to an extent, right?

Now, we aren’t minimalists here at the so I feel like that’s more of me trying to reassure myself that my collections are not out of hand but one of my weaknesses is enamel pins 🧷

Here are some from my collection before they went on my cork board; the survivor and killer perks for Cheryl and Pyramid Head from Dead by Daylight’s Silent Hill Chapter.

They were probably some of the most expensive pins I own but look at them…. They are worth it 🥺 - Em 🧛🏻‍♀️

This week is trips to the cinema for the Podcast and getting our fix for our sweet tooth with Nia DaCosta’s ‘Candyman’ 🍯

It’s officially the start of the witching seasons my ghosts and ghouls 👻

Hope we’re all having fun saying goodbye to the summer and getting ready for the best time of year - I have been seeing in the start of my favourite time of year sick so hence the insta being a little quiet.

I watched “Seed of Chucky” last night, first ever viewing and all I say is: Head empty of conscious thoughts, only filled with dreams of Jennifer Tilly 🖤

Thoughts on film sequels? I actually like the Child’s Play sequels then you get to “Bride of Chucky” and they are just a whole different level aren’t they? 😂

What films have you guys been watching lately?

By now it’s clear we at the podcast we enjoy a film now and again but I would dare say that Jamie 🧟‍♂️ probably consumes a lot more cinema in his household than I do 😂

Where Jamie is more up to date with newer releases whereas I am more inclined to watch older ones from the archives, classics from the vault per-say 🗝

Weekend is upon us and I want to know what you’re all up to?

We’re officially in the countdown to Halloween (look, if people can start counting down to Christmas early, I can count down to Halloween just as early 👀) and I haven’t got anything planned that’s spooky yet 😭

So, I’ll keep bringing a little doom and gloom to my day, a little scary story here, a little horror decor there - all to keep the spirit of All Hallows’ Eve alive 🧡🖤 - Em 🧛🏻‍♀️

It’s late July so you know what that means don’t you? Spooky seasonal items are starting to grace our shops shelves and I am going to be very, very poor for the foreseeable future!

I am very jealous of our US friends and their amazing selection of Halloween, horror and curiosity shops - it is a dream of mine to visit a massive Halloween shop, ya know the ones that have the large animatronics and amazing effects for your front garden! Maybe one day but for now, I have the little things like iced coffee in a lovely cup 😁 - Em 🧛🏻‍♀️

You ever find a game that is just so right for you?

I am a fan of all things strange and unusual because I myself… am strange and unusual.

I also like to have a little collection 👀 again, Jamie and I share that in common (check out yesterday’s post for one of Jamie’s collections!) and my Silent Hill 2 vinyl was one of my long awaited pieces - it was totally worth it though 🎹 - Em 🧛🏻‍♀️

Are you an Achievement Hunter or more of a casual gamer?

There just is something about getting that little Xbox notification pop up with the achievement unlocked emote chime that gives me a feeling of accomplishment, like I am showing my talents and understanding of the game - many an energy drink has been consumed whilst brushing up on my dip and roll techniques in gaming 😂

One of my proudest achievements - completing Resident Evil in under 3 hours for the “Don’t stop running” achievement, a picture that got went straight to the group chat 😎 - Em 🧛🏻‍♀️
