Grateful to The Courier Journal editor Bailey Loosemore, reporter Hannah Pinski and photojournalist Clare Grant for taking an interest in the work that Meaghan Thomas is doing in the community, and including me in her story as representatives of DOZENS OF US in the streets and on the pages 24/7 saving lives!!!

This four hour ride along involved the Herculean coordination efforts of team members Isabella Christensen, Ryah Wall, Jen Harrison, Trever Seay, Mariah Lofton, Melissa Odum and others, and a remarkable partnership effort with Lauren Pearl on the Dosker Manor eviction of a senior gentleman with two dogs and cat.

CJ photojournalist Clare captured a beautiful sampling of what we ALL do…catching and scanning loose dogs and returning them home, transporting to LMAS, securing fosters, service to the unhoused humans and to animals, networking rescue partnerships and more. There were no trappings (which can take days to accomplish) and no dead dogs to scan that day until after Clare left us, but they are an integral part of the work .
