In Japan, during the war, this boy was carrying his deceased brother on his back to bury him. A soldier saw him and told him to throw the dead child away so he wouldn't get tired. The boy replied, "He's not heavy; he's my brother." The soldier understood and started crying. Since then, this image has become a symbol of unity in Japan.
If only this could be our rallying cry:
"He's not heavy; he's my brother. She's my sister."
If they fall, I'll lift them.
If they tire, I'll support them.
If they're weak, I'll stand by them.
If they err, I'll forgive them.
If the world abandons them, I'll carry them on my back, for they are not heavy.
Because they're my siblings.
