As April is C-section awareness month✨

I never expected to have needed to have a c-section, so sharing what I wished i knew beforehand:

▪️Even if you don’t plan on having a c-section, do a quick read on what to expect if you had to have one.
▪️if there’s time, ask a nurse to take photos, this is the only photo I have and I definitely wish I thought to ask for photos
▪️shaking is very normal, I was still able to hold Eyla, just had my husband close by.
▪️if you feel nauseous, let them know! The anesthesiologist may be able to help
▪️use a belly binder when you feel comfortable
▪️hold and press a pillow to your stomach whenever you sneeze or cough.
▪️take the stool softener!
▪️Look up scar tissue mobilization and desensitization, there’s great videos on Instagram to show you how to do it.

Teyo Bayburt made his entrance on Sunday and we’ve been soaking up time together as a family of four🥰.

I cannot say enough about the support I got from my husband, and from my doula, Sonya during the laboring process- I had the best team I could’ve ever asked for, including the kindest of nurses.

Feeling incredibly lucky to have been able have experienced the VBAC I’ve been hoping for💙.

What an evening! These pictures and feelings needed a permanent place on our feed 💗.

We felt so incredibly inspired this evening, listening to and speak. The boldness to stand firm in your truth and beliefs that the Hon. Jody Wilson-Raybould shared, and holding on to, embracing, and connecting to your culture no matter what, really resonated.

And Joanna’s speech. We cannot say enough about how her speech made us feel, but we’ll give it a shot- To have achieved so much, to be such a successful CEO yet, have this insane ability to connect, be vulnerable, and share the truths of how one can seem put together one moment but the next be falling apart, and that success doesn’t mean you have it all together all the time, nor do you have to. And that celebrating your failures can be just as important as celebrating your successes.

So here’s to raising our (future glass) of failure champagne.

We had the best time !

They have Santa photo taking area and it’s free! You just need to bring a food bank donation. So we brought the kids, took our photo (Santa was SO good with the kids) and the kids ran off to play in this amazing play area that they have at the marketplace! Such cute clothes, Ina and I had a hard time restraining ourselves but if you’re still looking for some gifts, head over to this boutique! Your kids can play and you can get some shopping done ✔️ (there were comfy couches for spouses to lounge in too 😉)

We’re excited to meet our baby boy this Spring 💙! Eyla on the other hand isn’t so certain she wants a baby brother because she was dead set on having a baby sister 😅. If you have any tips on how you helped your LO come around when they were disappointed about their future sibling, let us know!

One thing I regret is not taking enough candid bump photos throughout my last pregnancy and so this time, I’m trying to remember, no matter how terrible I may feel I look, to still take that bump photo! Because looking back is always so nice to reminisce and share with our kids in the future ❤️.

Definitely haven’t taken weekly bump photos like I did with Eyla🙈( a little different with a toddler) BUT I am trying to take more bump photos in general because that’s one thing I now look back on fondly.

So here’s a little reminder for myself (and for anyone else), to take that bump cute photo ❤️

Having a toddler with allergies can be stressful at times. But having the proper care and information makes a big difference! I’m not a doctor, just a mom going through the allergy journey with my daughter. I know I knew so little when we first learned about Eyla’s allergies and relied on social media to find people to relate to.
