There’s still time to get out there and make a positive difference to your local area by doing a bit of balsam bashing this month. This invasive non-native may look pretty but it reduces biodiversity of plants and insects, causes erosion due to shallow frost tender roots, and reduces the pollination of other plants (due to bees preferring the easy nectar fix).

Pulling it up is easy and satisfying, and doing it now before it goes to seed is most beneficial. Pete from shares lots of fantastic info on pages 18-20
