PENTAGON PROVIDED NEARLY $8 BILLION IN ARMS, AID TO UKRAINE, SO FAR
The Pentagon has provided approximately $7.6 billion in military assistance to Ukraine, including approximately $6.9 billion since the start of Russia's invasion on February 24 of this year, according to a "fact sheet" released over the holiday weekend.
A few days ago, on July 1, the Department of Defense (DoD) announced an additional $820 million in military assistance for Ukraine, through a so-called "Presidential Drawdown" of approved weapons systems, the fourteenth such drawdown since last summer.
Military assistance for the Ukraine includes the following weapons systems:
• More than 1,400 Stinger anti-aircraft systems;
• More than 6,500 Javelin anti-armor systems;
• More than 20,000 other anti-armor systems;
• More than 700 Switchblade Tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems;
• More than 155mm Howitzers and up to 410,000 155mm artillery rounds;
• A total of 36,000 105mm artillery rounds;
• A total of 126 Tactical Vehicles to tow 155mm Howitzers;
• A total of 19 Tactical Vehicles to recover equipment;
• A total of Eight High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems and ammunition, including two which were destroyed by Russian troops over the most recent weekend, according to one foreign press report.
