This is the email I received recently from the crime lab. THIS is why I’m seeking answers. Where did the evidence go? Why was it only tested shortly after David’s murder?

Respectfully and honestly asked some questions in the Kansas City Police Historical Society group attempting to get clarification about what could have happened to the evidence in David’s case. Was met with anger, a “tread lightly” and getting blocked from the group.

While in Kansas City, I visited the place where David died. It's surprisingly serene. I took some comfort in knowing that the last place he saw was beautiful, despite the fear he must have felt.

The story of David and the memorial we held last weekend are on the FRONT PAGE of the North Cass Herald! Thank you to Allen Edmonds and Tony Bryson for the wonderful write up!

The paper can be found in Cass County at Casey's and HyVee.

I will be posting pictures from the memorial later today.

What a beautiful day to remember David! ❤️

14/08/2021

To clarify, the memorial is from 10:00am - noon. If you enter at the north entrance of Minor Park, we will gather in the shade to the right.

At or around 11:00pm, David called his mom for a ride home. This was unusual for David. He always walked home and occasionally hitchhiked.

This call could have been made from his girlfriend’s house or Shakey’s Pizza on Blue Ridge Blvd.

14/08/2021

At this time, 47 years ago, David was going to his girlfriend’s house to hang out with her and one of their friends.

13/08/2021

Tomorrow is the day!

Join us at 10:00am, Minor Park, to honor David and remember him on the 47th anniversary of his death.

Episode 6 is available now!

Find out what happened to Harry Funston after David’s murder.

Get ready for episode 5!

I just called to request a meeting with the KCPD homicide Sargent.

Not only did he say he wouldn’t meet with me (only Susan), he said that we “are nowhere near having a meeting”.

He had never heard of David’s case. I told him it has been 47 years and in my opionion, it’s DEFINITELY time to have a meeting.

You’ll learn in episode 5 (coming soon!) the extent to which police dropped the ball in David’s case. It seems KCPD isn’t interested in making up for that now.

Corey's Network, Inc. is a great organization hosting an in-person event, as well as a virtual vigil, for all unsolved homicide victims in the KC area.

David’s photo will be posted on their page, a sign with info about his murder will be displayed at the event and a kind stranger will be passing out flyers.

Please consider liking the page for Corey’s Network and sharing their post about David!

Remember when I said there is another part of Harry Funston's story?

In episode 3, "The Boys" (RELEASING TODAY!), police speak with several teenage boys who detail their interactions and relationships with Funston.

Could these statements shed light on a possible motive for David's murder?

28/06/2021

Because David’s murder is still unsolved, I’d like this page to be a place for open discussion of theories and thoughts you might have.

Now that you’ve gotten details of the crime itself and part of the story of the main suspect, what are your thoughts?

I’m also open to all feedback about the podcast itself, questions you may have or anything that has confused you so far.
