The spirit stack that I had surrounding me while creating the Fall 2020 issue !!!!! ❤️ what are some of your favorite?
Feeling autumnal
Anyone else?
I’m in Miami and there’s a hurricane outside. This gives me all the feels.
If you live in tropical areas, this sabbat may feel out of place. Try to see the subtle changes around you instead of focusing on what isn’t happening in your area.
In addition to these wonderful last minute Lammas ideas listed here, I personally like to replace my grains and flours in my kitchen. What do you like to do today?
Blessings ❤️
All I ask 😍
❤️ who plans to celebrate this weekend?
Do you celebrate Lammas? Variously called Lughnasadh, Lunasa, or August Eve, this sabbat is traditionally about the harvest. We bake bread, begin enjoying produce from our summer gardens, and celebrate the prosperity of the year. This is the first year I’ve actually had a vegetable harvest, so I’ve got a new appreciation for this sabbat. In previous years, though, I’ve always done magical work surrounding the coming school year (first as a student, and then as a teacher). It’s a good time to think about what we should be growing in our lives and laying down plans for doing things differently in the coming year, if we need to. It’s also a good time to uproot those things that aren’t serving us.
I think this sabbat is sometimes the most difficult to relate to, as modern witches and Pagans, since so many of us don’t actually have fields to manage. One way I get around that is by crafting. Corn dolls and some wheat crafts are surprisingly simple, and there’s lots of baking fun to explore. I’m also exploring some fun herbal projects—more new territory for me! Are you making anything? I’d love to hear about it!

Psa: nothing wrong with wanting to be a stripper nurse and get extra hammered near a gourd! Also not cancelled! Just do it at home 😂
Just a little longer.
I’m a librarian.
How about you?

One of my most vital suggestions to those new to the craft is to have a box of extra bottles, bags, rags and general supplies to make your own mixtures and combinations. For example, here is a bottle of Capsicum in Coconut oil I mixed up for spellwork. According to Scott Cunninham's Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs, "If you feel your mate is looking for greener pastures, buy two large dried chilli peppers. Cross them and tie together with a red or pink ribbon. Place beneath your pillow and this should help keep fidelity in your marriage. If you've been cursed, scatter red pepper around your house to break the spell. Red pepper is also used in love powders to inflame the beloved, or to ensure that the love you find will be spicy."
In Catherine Yronwode's Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic book, she lists several applications of Red Pepper. Whether it's "to cause inflammatory confusion in an enemy's household" or to "Undermine an enemy," she provides several different applications and uses.
Personally, I use this oil to symbolically light a fire under a spell. I've used it on a candle for myself to get me off my own ass and actually get something done, and a few other ways that have been successful over the years.
How do you use Red Pepper?
Enjoying the rainy morning today. How’s your week going so far?
