Friends of Ursa Journey with a dream being named Ursa in this collection of gender neutral tales. Is Ursa human, animal, or something else? Male, female, or other?

Ursa emerged from the dreamworld in the year 2000, and continues to be shrouded in mystery. Inevitably, someone asks, "But who is Ursa, really?" This palindrome text tries to explain:

"Ursa is I, as r u."

Thank you sidetracked for hosting the "Ursa and the Animals" public participatory reading July 21. Guests chose poems and read them aloud while they were projected, overlaid with another projection of squiggles actively being drawn. I feel very grateful for the opportunity, and it was a wonderful experience to hear people read.
Special thanks to readers and drawers Patti, Eleanor, Zeke, Savanna, Elijah, Ivan, Juniper, Sarah, and Bruce, and to Sara and Ben for supporting with seemingly endless love.

Looking for an excuse to get out of Saturday housecleaning? I need help with a story revision. "Ursa Is I, As R U" is an origin story made from 50 prose poems. Gentle warning: Some parts are gruesome.
The type of response I'm looking for is for you to tell me what's going on in your mind as you read the words. (That's a response method Peter Elbow and Pat Belanoff came up with.) Please message me with your email address or mailing address if you're interested. Thanks!

Ursa Lived Alone in a Castle

Gathering dust. Ursa scraped dust into a little mound
with one paw. Studied the mound. Stared until all dust.
Ursa couldn’t even see the paw, forelimb, anything.

The dust tickled Ursa’s nose. “AH!” said Ursa. A sneeze
made the mound become a billowing cloud.

Ursa growled, brushed dust off the top of Ursa’s head,
and began again.

Ursa Built a Machine

It was a laughing machine.

“Hooray!” Ursa said. “Now my life will be easier.”

But the machine wouldn’t stop laughing.
