Join Tour Director and travel writer Patrick Twomey for this entertaining journey where we will explore the wonders and beauty of Canada’s oldest National Parks. Banff & Lake Louise, Jasper, Yoho, Kootenay and Waterton are considered among the most beautiful places on earth. This wild and protected landscape is arguably home to modern tourism. In the Rockies, we have snow for at least 7 month a year and when the ice melts in spring, the lakes reveal a deep turquoise that has attracted awe-inspired explorers since trains arrived in the 1880s.
During this virtual presentation we will learn about the first inhabitants of the region, European settlement and how the mountains formed. We will also discuss living with wildlife and walking with bear spray!
The Canadian Rockies are a place people return to year after year. During winter we simply walk across the ice on Lake Louise, skate or ski. In summer we walk, hike, bike and, of course, climb. Our modern communities remain small, but are diverse, cultural and fun.
Here in Banff we guarantee a white Christmas, so come a celebrate the end of a year without travel in a place people dream of visiting.
