The dreams of many girls in Ghana often go unrealized due to the massive gap in gender equality throughout the country. A few years ago Right to Dream became the first football academy in all of Ghana to start a girl's program, focused on excellence in football as well as academics.

For any brand or business great content alone cannot guarantee that it will reach your core consumers. In order to ensure a campaign's success you must have a strategic paid media plan as well. However, just putting money behind content does not guarantee that it will reach and resonate with the paid audience.

This week I'll discuss the power of paid media across all social channels with Jeff Nicholson, CEO of Tracer. So proud to have had Jason Beauregard co-direct this commercial with Iván Mena-Tinoco. They had an amazing team, that put in a ridiculous amount of overtime, sweat, and tears to get this one done. Traveling a massive crew and the entire Bud Clydesdale team across 6 states in under two weeks was not an easy task.

Huge shout out to our Director of Photography Joe Victorine.

Working with the Clydesdales will forever be one of the highlights of Jason's career.

Gone are the days when traditional advertising agencies took a few months to sell a brand on a marketing idea, another month of testing that idea on an audience, a month to adjust their idea based on that audiences' reactions, another two months for production, and a final round of audience testing before releasing that commercial onto the world. Sounds crazy but that's how massive brands, only a couple of years ago, would produce commercials. Now brands and businesses must find more efficient and quicker ways to make content if they have any hope of staying relevant to their core consumers.

In this episode of Redefining Advertising, I'll discuss with Steve Babcock, how brands and businesses need to own their creative capabilities and how they need to stop making commercials their consumers scroll past but rather tell stories that stop them in their feeds.

So many brands and businesses have reached out to me and asked how much content should they create every month. I tell them to look at their own personal lives...

If you get a text message every day from someone you know only wants to be friends because they want something from you, you're probably going to block that person's phone. But if you get only one message from a true friend, a month, and that message connects with you on a deep, personal level, chances are you're going to respond and keep that friend close to your life.

Brands need to think of their content the same way - Yes you can bombard potential clients with your commercials, and you MAY be able to buy a few casual customers, BUT to have loyal consumers, it's about sending the right message that builds a long term connection to your brand or business.

For three centuries most brands/business have used advertising to reach, acquire and retain customers. Marketers would consistently interrupt their consumers' TV shows and through repetition, at scale, it would build brand awareness which pushed people to a sale.

However, consumers are now blocking, swiping past and subscribing to services like Netflix, all in an attempt to rid their lives of unwanted interruptions from brands. Brands and businesses are faced with an advertising and marketing crisis and the only way to reconnect and engage with those lost consumers is by creating engaging content they want to seek out, not content they screen out.

Danielle Dardashti and I will discuss the strength of storytelling and how it is the key to a brand/businesses' success in reconnecting with their core consumer.
