Haven’t been able to get out and metal detect for a while, but was able to earlier today on a new permission and found some awesome civil war relics! My favorite is the carved bullet in the shape of a shield.

The dark patina on the lead is because the area has been a hardwood forest since at least the civil war and the tannins from the leaves and tree debris create that dark patina.
