Friendly reminder: Nintendo is not the good guys. I remember running an SNES emulator back in high school. It was the only way I could play old games because by then, they were pushing the N64 & GameCube. So backwards compatibility wasn't a thing for any of their products other than the GameBoy. They didn't do anything about it for over a decade until the Switch dropped and they wanted to get more money for old IPs. The messed up part is that the crackdown most likely affected those playing ROMs of IPs that weren't first-party titles, so all the games currently available on the Switch's official NES/SNES/N64 emulators are just a fraction of the games you could've played with there being little likelihood of seeing the rest of the library over time. In this case, however, they aren't in the wrong.

Nintendo Inc. is accusing the developer of a Switch emulator of copyright violations and pirating its video game software in a new lawsuit filed this week. The lawsuit was filed in the District of Rhode Island federal court on Monday by Nintendo Inc., which is accusing Tropic Haze LLC of being aware...

At first I had to unpack the space, before setting this up. Then I was dragging ass by checking in for Apex Legends &LET IT DIE. I realized I was lowkey intimidated, so I bit the bullet last night and finally installed the T-GT II racing wheel. Now the question is, should this Tuesday's be FPS/art or racing/art?

The FB, Twitter, and Insta pages may be relatively new, but the channel has been around for 10yrs! The idea to join Twitch was inspired by a talk I gave to a group of college professors about education and/in gaming. The first game streamed was Valiant Hearts: The Great War on the PS4 and was the perfect game for what I wanted to do with the channel. Initially, the channel was going to build on the concepts I tried to explain during that lecture.
The channel went inactive for 3-4 years for reasons but came back. However, I never did finish Valiant Hearts nor kept up with the concept. At least not as intended. Since starting back up there has been more of a focus on gaming, with the education/informational focus taking something of a back seat. This isn't to say that I'm no longer interested, but rather a reminder to myself of what my goals were. Will I ever finish VH? Maybe, that sounds like a good anniversary stream. Will I get back to preaching how gaming can make education more fun and accessible? Kinda, "We Talkin About Practice"(WTBP) is supposed to be the broadcast for that. It's now more of a competitive FPS grind with the option of something educational or creative. Informing others is still a general theme that I try to keep during the broadcast. So I try to fill the load screens and lobby wait times with stories in the gaming industry as well as general news and stories. Seeing as I've jumped back into LET IT DIE for their 7th anniversary, I'm contemplating bringing back "The Daily Grind"(subject to rename), where I pick a collection of stories to report while climbing the tower of barbs(mostly because this is one of the few games I can kinda autopilot while reading). Whatever the case and whatever happens, I'm looking forward to continuing to have fun with the games and topics I go through!

The Marco Rossi model METAL SLUG watch by

This watch has a charcoal gray band with brown straps. Like the MGS watch, this piece can tell the day and the day of the week in the form of numbers and power-ups respectively. The health bar adds to the visual aid of day of the week if you can't read the instructions(written kanji/kana). The outer ring of the watch is lined with the hours. The red ring of ticks are the seconds/minutes with the larger green numbers within that ring counting as the 5 mark in the red ring. Finally within that ring are smaller green numbers that operate as the hours for those who go by a 24-hour format. The back of the watch has an engraved METAL SLUG tank.

Kids have been taking brutal L's in other forms of media (e.g.: Evil Dead Rise, Hereditary, ect) And they take them in games, but usually as an in/direct result of your actions and off-screen or in a cut-scene (Spec Ops: The Line, Fallout 3, Papers Please, ect). It may sound extreme, but video games are just another medium. While it doesn't sound like adding such a mechanic would add to the "video games as art" argument, I think that depends on how it's implemented. So when you have games like Agony(absolute garbage by the way, don't play it), Scorn(it's on my list, but I don't know if I can stream that one), and some of the more over-the-top jokes of the South Park games, arguably breaking boundaries, is it really so unthinkable or reprehensible that GTA, have the feature to kill a kid? It's really just more violent fuel for the fire. Skyrim had kids in their game, making the world feel more lived in. Of course, they were invincible with Bethesda even calling out players who wanted the option or made mods that allowed to wipe out younglings. For what Skyrim was and all the quests involved, adding the mechanic would've added nothing to the game as a whole. For a game like GTA, there's also not much it would add beyond violence and controversy for controversy's sake. You could put a steeper penalty in the form of an immediate 2-3 star wanted level, the amount of money lost, and an implied beating of your character while locked up with half-health upon release. But outright adding kids to a series with little child presence would be jarring. There would have to be a mission that justifies or at least acknowledges the children in the world can interact and/or present in the space. While Rockstar has proven they can craft a hell of a story and world, throwing kids into GTA VI doesn't sound like it would work at face value. If they can, cool. But it would have to make sense on some level for the option to be there. Seeing as Rockstar slips in commentary on society and the people who enjoy games like GTA, would it really be outside the realm of possibly where a side mission has you delete a series of influencers/streamers/vloggers? Is it adding another layer of immersion? I'm not against it, but for me, there needs to be a reason. Does this move the plot forward in some way? Am I the bad guy or playing the evil card in a morality-based game? Are you letting the player exercise free will in a sandbox where anything you can do in reality, you can do in-game? Sometimes when a dev adds kids to a game, they make the most annoying, pain-in-the-ass, little s**ts imaginable and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it. Other times if they are used as props you are tasked with saving/protecting at the risk of getting "GAME OVER" or mission failure. Is it just another sign of society sinking further into depravity? Why do the lives of fictional characters matter so much to some more than others? What are your thoughts?

They don’t spare them in movies or music..
