Akhnoor police and NGO Hum Saath Saath Hain carried out awareness campaign for traffic rules and safety measures.
To educate the importance of safety measures Helmets were distributed among commuters.
Commuters were advised and educated regarding safety measures while driving.

Jammu Srinagar NHW remained blocked for 22 hrs 50 mins due to shooting stones/landslide near Sherbibi.

2. HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road.

3. *NHAI has been directed by the Govt. to repair and maintenance works on NH-44 between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel. Because of this necessary repair work, traffic will remain suspended from Nashri towards NAVYUG Tunnel and vice versa from 0600 hrs on 24th February to 0600 hrs on 25th February 2023. Moreover, similar dry days on NH-44 will also be observed on 3rd and 10th March 2023*

SSP Kishtwar Sh. Khalil Poswal-JKPS said the kishtwar Police is working on multipronged strategy to deal with the problem of drug abuse, today Kishtwar Police booked notorious drug peddler of Kishtwar Town, under PIT NDPSA and lodged him at District Jail Kishtwar.

However in view of his continuous involvement in drug peddling and criminal cases and to save young generations from indulging in addiction of drugs, it was felt necessary to book him under the stringent preventive law.

The accused Mudassir S/o Mehraj-Ud-Din R/o Near Om Mehta Road Kishtwar was found involved in various drug peddling cases, during the investigation of previous cases and leads of narcotics inputs.
After obtaining PIT NDPSA orders from higher authorities today the said accused is sent to District Jail Kishtwar so that drug trafficking syndicate broken down.

*36 Thieves Arrested and Big Modules of Thieves busted in a Short Period : SSP Samba Benam Tosh*

Samba, Feb 20 : Under the guidance of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, police have achieved another success in intensive drive against thieves in the district Samba by arresting notorious thief and solved another theft case by effecting recovery.

Notorious thief has been identified as Bashir Ahmed s/o Mirza Khan r/o Dhama tehsil Majalta district Udhmapur A/P Gole Gujral, Gujjar Basti Jammu who had been committing thefts in Samba & Jammu districts, had been caught in CCTV cameras as well, but used to escape from the clutches of police everytime.

With the arrest of the notorious thief made by SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar, SHO Sunil Sharma & PSI Shakti Singh under the supervision of Addl SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, another theft case FIR No 35/2023 u/s 379 IPC of P/S Bari Brahmana has been solved by police and stolen bike has been recovered. FIR in the said theft case was registered on the complaint of one Mohd. Farooq s/o Shail Din r/o Sandhi tehsil and district Jammu.

SSP Samba Benam Tosh said that thirty six (36) thieves have been arrested and big modules of thieves have been busted by Samba police in a short period of one & half month only, seventeen (17) theft cases have been worked out and teams have also been deputed to other States to apprehend absconding notorious thieves.

People have appreciated the pro-active approach of Samba police, especially intensive drive launched against thieves during which major successes one after the other have been achieved by the police, dozens of notorious thieves arrested and huge stolen property has been recovered.

From 19-02-2023, 1700 hrs. to 20-02-2023, 1700 hrs Jammu Srinagar NHW remained blocked due to C-N Tunnel closed for 37 mins and NAVYUG Tunnel closed for 38 mins by Tunnel authorities, making the total blockage of 01 hrs 15 mins. There was slow movement on NH-44 due to breakdown of 04 HMVs between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel.

Samba Police Arrested Another Interstate He**in Supplier With 100 g He**in and Cash;

Total 07 Interstate Narcotic Smugglers arrested within one month : SSP Samba Benam Tosh

Samba : Under the guidance of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, police achieved another major success in their continued operation against narcotic smugglers/suppliers, arrested one (01) more interstate he**in supplier/smuggler and recovered he**in like substance ( also called ‘chitta’ ) weighing 100 gms (approx.) worth rupees five (05) lacs (approx.) alongwith cash amounting to rupees 3830.00 and one Android Mobile Phone from his possession.

The arrested notorious interstate narcotic supplier has been identified as Akram Khan alias Imran S/o Makhan R/o Chak Murrar, Tehsil Bishnah, District Jammu. A case FIR No. 23/2023 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at police station Vijaypur and investigation started.

Alert officials of a ‘naka’ near Vijaypur comprising of SDPO Vijaypur Priyanka Kumari and SHO Vijaypur Tribhawan Khajuria under the supervision of Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, while conducting checking found one suspicious person getting off the bus ahead of naka point and trying to move away to avoid checking. Upon this, he was intercepted and during his personal search, he**in like substance (‘chitta’), cash and android mobile phone was recovered from his possession.

During preliminary questioning, twenty four year old notorious interstate smuggler disclosed that he used to supply he**in to the local suppliers after smuggling the same from Punjab and has been operating for the last four years. The local suppliers would supply the same to the individual addicts in the areas of Jammu, Samba, Kathua and adjoining districts.

SSP Samba Benam Tosh said that total seven (07) notorious suppliers of narcotic substances including three (03) women narcotic smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police within a short period of one month and traps & raids are being organized to track down the other anti-social elements involved in narcotic trafficking & drugs supplying and all-out efforts are being made by police to make Samba district narcotics & drugs free.

Samba : Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, accompanied by SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar & SHO police station Bari Brahmana Sunil Sharma, visited Gujjar locality Sarore in Bari Brahmana area of Samba district and held meeting with Gujjars with a view to create awareness against narcotic substances & drug abuse and to elicit information about narcotic smugglers & suppliers.

A large number of males, females and children of different Gujjar families putting up at Sarore gathered and interacted with SSP Samba in cordial atmosphere and resolved to educate their children and assured to create atmosphere conducive to get rid of the menace of he**in also called 'chitta'.

On the occasion, SSP Samba, Benam Tosh said that it was first exclusive meeting of police with the Gujjars at Sarore where senior police officers of the district directly interacted with the gujjar families at their doorsteps. He further inspired them to provide better education to their children rather than to indulge them in illegal narcotic trafficking. SSP Samba told that Police would provide school bags, uniform items, books, notebooks, pens & geometry boxes to the children of poorest of poor families in Samba district beginning with Ghagwal area. Police will also organize series of exclusive meetings with Gujjar families in the district with a view to educate them against ill effects of he**in ('chitta') on individuals and society.

An information was received at PS Miran Sahib regarding one absconder namely Gurpreet singh s/o inderjeet singh r/o upper Gadigarh jammu who was involved in case FIR No 96/2017 U/s 8/21/22/29 /NDPS Act.and was absconding since 06 years in the above said case.
On this police team of ps miran sahib led by Sho Miran Sahib Insp Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of Sdpo Rs Pura Sh Surinder singh and overall supervision of SP Hqrs sh Ramnish Gupta strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV footages of the area finally arrested the accused person, and produced him before the Hon'ble Additional Special Mobile Magistrate R S Pura court and shall be held in judicial custody till further hearing.

```District Police Kishtwar have started a special drive to arrest the absconders and accordingly Jaffer Husain arrested who was evading arrest from the last 10 years.

SSP Kishtwar Sh. Khalil Poswal-JKPS has constituted special teams to arrest the 90 absconders of the district kishtwar involved in various criminal cases and has directed to initiate proceedings to get declared them as proclaimed offenders U/Sec. 82/83 Cr.PC.

In this regard a team headed by SHO PS Kishtwar Insp Abid Bukhari Under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Kishtwar has arrested one absconder namely Jaffer Hussain S/o Lt. Mohd Ramzan Sheikh R/o Sangrambata Kishtwar, wanted in case FIR No. 160/2013 U/Sec. 436/452/336/353/435/332/427147/148/149/124-ARPC of PS Kishtwar who was evading his arrest from last 10 years and accordingly produced before the Hon’ble court of Kishtwar and on the direction of the Hon’ble the absconder lodged at district jail Kishtwar.

SSP Kishtwar Mr. Poswal-JKPS warned all absconders who were evading their arrest to appear before police or Hon’ble court where from the warrant has been issued otherwise their property shall also be attached.```

Total 32 Thieves Arrested, 14 Theft Cases Solved Within One Month: SSP Samba Benam Tosh

Samba: Police under the guidance of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, have achieved another major breakthrough during their intensive drive against thieves and arrested eight (08) more thieves including a gang involved in felling of ‘Khair’ trees & stealing ‘Khair’ wood and solved three more theft cases. Stolen property including wooden logs of ‘Khair’ trees worth rupees 25000.00 (approx.), copper items worth rupees 20000.00 (approx.) and barbed wire worth rupees 5000.00 (approx.) have been recovered.

Among eight (08) arrested thieves are : six (06) thieves arrested by SHO police station Purmandal Hardev Singh and Incharge police post Utterbehni PSI Ravi Kant, two (02) thieves arrested by SHO police station Bari-Brahmana Sunil Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.

```SSP Kishtwar Sh. Khalil Poswal-JKPS today held a high level security meeting with the officers of Army, CRPF,IRP, CISF,CID, IB & other officers in view of present security scenario of the district.

SSP Kishtwar Shri Khalil Poswal-JKPS briefed the officer regarding the security scenario and law & order of district and steps being taken in wake of upcoming challenges, action against over ground workers of terrorists and other important events coming forth. He was apprised about the deployment plan so formulated of Vital installations, religious places, Nakas, Guards etc.

1.*From 06-02-2023, 1700 hrs. to 07-02-2023, 1700 hrs. Jammu Srinagar NHW remained block for 11 mins due to shooting stones at Cafeteria. C-N Tunnel closed by Tunnel authority for 15 mins, making the total blockage of 26 mins. There was slow movement on NH-44 due to breakdown of 04 HMVs between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel.*

2. HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road.

*TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 08-02-2023:-*
Subject to fair weather and road clearance, LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa. TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.

*CUT OFF TIMINGS FOR LMVS/PASSENGER/PRIVATE CARS: -*
To be released from Nagrota (Jammu) from 0800 hrs. to 1100 hrs.
from Jakheni (Udhampur) 0900 hrs to 1200 hrs &
from Qazigund 0800 hrs to 1100 hrs.
TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about the traffic advisory and cut off timings. No vehicle shall be allowed to move before and after cut off timings.

*HMVs/Load Carriers: -*
Subject to fair weather and road clearance, HMVs shall be allowed from NAVYUG Tunnel towards Jammu after assessing the road and traffic situation on NH-44. TCU Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the HMVs.

*SFs Convoy Movement: -*
Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of possible traffic congestion because of narrow carriage way between Nashree and Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Tomorrow they may ply from Srinagar towards Jammu after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.

SSG Road closed for vehicular movement vide Divisional Commissioner Ladakh UT's order no. 75 dated 06-01-2023 in view of snow accumulation.

Police Headquarters welfare measures

DGP JK sanctions over Rs. 94 lakh as relief to families of martyrs, deceased/retired police personnel & SPOs

Jammu February 07: With an aim to provide financial succour to the families of the Police personnel who have been martyred/ passed away while in service, the Director General of Police, J&K, Shri Dilbag Singh has sanctioned rupees 78 lakh as Special Welfare Relief in favour of the dependents/legal heirs of these martyed/ deceased Police personnel/SPOs.

Rupees 5.90 lakh and rupees 10.40 lakh has also been sanctioned as welfare relief in favour of legal heirs/dependents of martyred, deceased/retired police officials /SPOs.

The DGP has sanctioned welfare relief of rupees 10000 to rupees 25000 in favour of NoK of 32 martyred police personnel/ SPOs who attained martyrdom in different terrorist attacks. The amount has been sanctioned for the martyred families to ease up their financial needs.

Besides this, the DGP also sanctioned welfare relief of rupees 10000 to rupees 25000 in favour of NoK of 54 deceased/retired police personnel. The amount has been sanctioned out of Retired Policemen Welfare Fund.

Vide different orders of PHQ, the DGP has sanctioned Special welfare relief of rupees 22 lakh each in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased HC Naresh Kumar, SgCt. Bhader Singh and Sgct Parvaiz Ahmad. The amount has been sanctioned out of J&K Police Pariwar Fund.

Moreover the DGP, J&K has also sanctioned rupees 06 lakh each as Special Welfare Relief in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased SPOs Monohar Lal and Sanjay Kumar. The deceased personnel/SPOs have passed away due to illness/ natural death while in service.

Rupees one lakh each has already been paid to the families of deceased Police personnel for performing their last rites through their concerned units. The Special Welfare Relief is sanctioned out of Contributory Police Welfare Funds.

Police Headquarters is implementing many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of martyrs, their wards and also for the retired Police personnel and their spouses.

*A written complaint was lodged at P/S Kishtwar by the members of Shiv Mandir committee Kishtwar* stating therein that some unknown thieves entered into the temple during the night hours and stole away some cash from the Safe of Shiv Mandir.

Subsequently a case FIR No. 19/2023 U/S 457/380 IPC got registered at P/S Kishtwar and investigation started.

*On this incident SSP Kishtwar Sh. Khalil Poswal-JKPS constituted a Special team* headed by SHO P/S Kishtwar Inspr. Abid Bukhari under supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs Kishtwar Sh. Ashish Gupta.

During the investigation special team rounded up many suspects for questioning with the assistance of technical teams.

After strenuous efforts the team could finally nab the accused persons namely Sameer Sharma S/o Srikrishan Sharma R/o Panditgam Kishtwar and another one is juvenile name is (withheld) involved in the commission of crime, they were put to sustained interrogation in which they disclosed to have committed the theft. On the disclosure of the accused, recovery of Rs. 5500/- was made by the investigation team. Further investigation is going on to ascertain their involvement in other cases also.

It is pertinent to mention here in that the above mentioned thief namely Sameer sharma is habitual as he has remained involved in many pervious cases also.

SSP Samba Benam Tosh Presided Over Two Police- Public Meetings At Border Villages

Samba: Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh presided over two police-public meetings at border villages of Koulpur and Kamore in Ramgarh sector of Samba district where hundreds of people from all walks of life were present and aired their grievances.

District police chief was accompanied by SDPO Vijaypur Priyanka Kumari, Deputy SP Garu Ram Bhardwaj and SHO police station Ramgarh Asha Nand, whereas public side was represented by the prominent citizens of nine border villages including Sarpanch Capt Retd. Jasbir Singh, Sarpanch Kuldeep Kumar Verma , Sarpanch Kali Dass, Principal Sandeep Choudhary, Lambardar Raja Singh and Naib Sarpanch Jagdish Kumar.

Most of the issues raised by the public were redressed on the spot, whereas directions were issued to the concerned officers to solve all the police-related grievances highlighted by the people at the police-public meetings.

In his address, SSP Samba Ben am Tosh said that by way of holding more and more interactions and meetings with the public, Samba police will come closer to the people so that their genuine grievances could be studied and redressed to the fullest satisfaction of the people. He further said police intends to eradicate drugs abuse & deadly narcotics addiction in the public interest and towards that end, police is committed to track down all smugglers and suppliers of narcotic substances, drugs & liquor. Police will also organise cultural events and other entertainment activities at different places to explore talented potential of the people, SSP added.
