🔗 Speed Networking today at in Gerrards Cross

If you feel uncomfortable networking, this is perfect, 3 minutes to chat and move to the right.. cue total carnage 😂

It was great fun, with lots of new connections made, and exciting new businesses to learn about.

As they say, every day is a school day! 👩‍🎓 I learnt what a Notary does 🤷‍♀️ who knew there were only 700 in the country! And that most collagen products we buy are total rubbish!

I also met more business owners that don’t like social media! 🙈 why does everyone hate it so much?!

If you learnt anything from meeting me today, I hope it’s that social media can be easy and fun when you know how 🪄✨ there is a way, and that way is with strategy! 🤓

You can often find me in there, and my love of all things social is the reason I’m now starting a new co-working group on Friday mornings, running alongside my new 8 week social media course. DM for details & booking link.

Celebrating International Women’s Day today and thinking about what we are able to achieve as women in 2024..

This is me..

I am a speaker
I am a supporter of good causes
I am an Easter bunny! 😂

It’s a surprising amount when you list it all! And makes you realise how much we actually do, and why we need spa days!

Maybe today should be a day for celebrating our successes.. and focusing on the things we ticked off our lists today, rather than the things we didn’t!

💭 If you’re stuck for ideas, let social media Awareness Days help fire your imagination..

Use them literally or loosely, relate them to your product, service or business, and add your own brand personality to create trending content.

All will have a large audience, but don’t feel you have to use them all, just use them as a guide and see what inspires you.

A few tips:

#️⃣ Use the correct hashtags! Search them first.

✉️ Keep the post relevant.. is it delivering a marketing message to your audience?

🔄 Share relevant posts to your stories for a quick and easy way to join in the conversation, also hugely beneficial for charity campaign awareness days.

Examples for March:

Reflection day: Can be looking back and reflecting / could also be a reflection in a mirror or lake/water.

Mother’s Day: Can be treating a mother, tagging a mother, being a mother, being in business as a mother, gifts, quotes, and also being sensitive to those who may find Mother’s Day upsetting and giving advice.

World Book Day: Do you sell books, have you written a book? Has a book helped your business journey?
Maybe read an excerpt from a book, or post a quote.

International Happiness Day: Show happy customer testimonials, make your customers happy with an offer, create engagement by asking what makes your clients happy, and sharing what makes you happy. For mental health, maybe give tips on ways to increase your happiness.

The ideas are endless!

🎯“A goal without a plan is just a wish”

In social media, and in business, success begins and ends with a plan.

But knowing how to plan for success is a skill.

I plan ALOT! In the past I’ve been guilty of overplanning, and trying to shoehorn a weeks worth of work into a day 🙈 this was common, and looked like this;

🏃‍♀️Run at the wall.. crash, fall, realise you need a rest, REST, feel guilty for the rest and ‘wasted time’ and charge at the wall again 🙈

I realised this was not a good way forward!! And started planning better, thinking about the detail. And it works! This is now the foundation for my Social Media Strategy Course.

The GrowthClub session with James built on that, by defining our goals, and breaking down the actions to achieve it in a realistic timeframe.

It was a hugely productive day, with likeminded people and great food! Making connections with other business owners, all working to achieve their goals in 90 days.

🤫 I can’t tell you what the goals are! but I’ve been beavering away behind the scenes to bring you something special! so watch this space!!

A presentation for Rishi Sunak’s newly formed Department for Business & Trade..

The DBT supports businesses to invest, grow and export, creating jobs and opportunities across the country.

It was a pleasure to be invited to speak alongside Dr Alan Shaw, and Jennifer Shaw-Sweet, EMEA Lead at LinkedIn.

It was a great discussion on how SME’s can benefit from implementing a digital strategy, and how to implement, and effectively execute a social media marketing strategy.

With a few of my favourite examples of brands who are getting it right, and how they are, providing a lesson in how to reverse engineer your success. There was also a lively Q&A, answering possibly the most often asked question! ‘Do I have to dance on TikTok?!’

A: Only if you want to! If dancing and being entertaining aligns with your brands personality, you can deliver your message in this way, and your audience are on the platform, (and you want to!) then give it a go!

What’s your story?
What made you start your business?
What makes you stand out from the rest?

I started a new career after the death of my husband.
Originally planning on photography, a friend suggested social media marketing, and thought I’d be good at it. I loved it. Everything about it.

I’m never as happy as when I’m creating content and reels, working out strategies, building accounts and watching them grow.

It doesn’t feel like work, and my clients benefit from the relaxed friendly approach. It’s true what they say, “find something you love and you’ll never work a day.. “

And being able to help the charities that helped me and my children is the best bit.

Use National Storytelling Week to tell your brand story, with words, photographs, or both.

❗️Don’t forget to use the hashtag, and keywords for search engine optimisation.
