Macie Nance I’m Macie! I’m a new mom just trying to live according to God’s will and raising a family.

Just a little reminder to slow down this holiday season because next year our babies won’t be as little. They will be a little bigger, a little older, a little more independent. Its so easy to get caught up in the hustle. Slow down and cherish the moment because we won’t get it back.

Motherhood is a ministry. It’s a high calling from God and a great work of the Kingdom. Because of this great blessing, Satan seeks to destroy mothers and families. Motherhood is hard. And Satan attacks mothers daily. He feeds them lies, tempts them and creates chaos.

Momma, it’s time to take your thoughts captive, make them obedient to Christ, and lean on God during this season. Trust God’s Word, not the devil’s lies.

I have created a short, 5-day devotional to help mothers identify the lies and replace them with God’s Word.

I am looking for a couple mothers that might enjoy this devotional. I’m offering it for ✨FREE✨ in return that you invite 5 momma friends to my page Macie Nance and Encouraged & Equipped: A Wife & Motherhood Journey and tag them in the comments below.

“She rises while it is still night, and provides food for her household…” Proverbs 31:15

A homemaker rises early before the house. She puts effort into her meals. She meal plans, meal preps, and makes nourishing meals from scratch.

An easy way to start making meals from scratch is making your own bread. Flour is a staple in our house because there’s so many different recipes and foods you can make.

If you’d like to know more, feel free to message me!

A homemaker; a person who spends time taking care of their home and family.

A home is built on Christ; to build, encourage, discipline, and teach.

One of the most important works God calls women to do is homemaking. Homemaking is our ministry. We are to build our homes up, including our husbands and children. Older women have the calling to be role models to younger women. Using wisdom to encourage teach young women. We are to love our husbands and children. Be self-controlled and pure. Busy working in our homes. And to be kind and submissive to our husbands.

Titus 2:3-5 is instructions for women on how to live life. It is our calling. Proverbs 31:10-31 is a portrait of an ideal woman. One we should inspire to become. We can not master all these abilities, however, we can learn from her.

This year, I have so much to be thankful for.

God has blessed my household.

I’m thankful for my loving husband.

I’m thankful for my sweet little baby.

I’m thankful I get to be a homemaker full-time.

I’m thankful God has blessed my hands in the kitchen.

Most of all, I’m thankful for Jesus.

Happy Thanksgiving! May you seek gratitude and blessings today! 🤎

These are things I changed that have improved my relationship with my husband and improved my overall mental health as a SAHM.

1. Do not look for your happiness from your husband. He can bring you joy and happiness but do not solely rely on him to provide it. You will always end up disappointed

2. I tried to shift my perspective as I get to stay home and raise my baby and I get to make our house a home. My husband works so hard to provide a house. I get the privilege to make it a safe space. It does get overwhelming at times but I’ve had to make a routine. My husband never helps with chores. And it’s okay. I see it as my duty and my “job.” He has the stress of having to provide EVERYTHING we need. The least I can do is provide a clean home, meals, and a well-loved baby.

3. I pay close attention to how I talk to my husband. I try not to nag or complain. I try to talk to him with grace. I try to understand he works hard outside the home so I can spend time with my son inside the home. My husband misses out on a lot. I try to love him and respect him. If I need help I just tell him I’m struggling and could use however long of break or time to pick up. Also learn to let the little things go. I always ask myself “is this worth being mad about? Is it worth ruining my day over?”

4. Always remember just because my husband isn’t doing it my way doesn’t mean it’s the wrong way. He’s learning just like I am.

5. If you try to keep score or compare your roles, you will end up resenting your husband.

6. Make a routine. I don’t have a great one with my baby. But setting a cleaning routine/schedule has been so beneficial. Pick a room to focus on each day. Sweep/vacuum every few days. If you’re in a room (ex: bathroom) quickly pick up or put things away while you’re in there. Just trying to keep things picked up will make it look cleaner than it is. And it’s okay if you don’t get everything done on the list!

7. Give yourself grace and give your husband grace!! Parenting is hard. Life is hard.

Motherhood has been one of the most challenging, yet rewarding, experiences in my life.

We are reminded in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18, our suffering is only temporary and worth the eternal glory. Motherhood is hard but temporary and it’s Gods work. Troubles come and go, but they are only momentarily compared to eternity. God glorifies our suffering in motherhood.

He does not abandon us. God knows motherhood is hard. He is right there next to us, every step of the way. We are doing God’s work by raising our children in the light of Christ.

Don’t let the challenges of motherhood steal your joy. Seek gratitude. Give yourself grace. Lean on God.

Man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. GENESIS 2:24 ESV

Father, Thank You for blessing me with my husband. May we continue to hold fast to one another. Remind us daily that we are one flesh. May the Holy Spirit guide us on how to glorify You in our marriage covenant. Help me to honor my vows I made to him on our wedding day. Show me ways to uplift and encourage him spiritually. Show me ways I can help strengthen and honor him. Help me to love him the way You love me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

It’s 3 am again.

A time I dread. Barely able to keep my eyes open. Drifting in and out. Wishing the morning would come.

It’s 3 am. The world is quiet.

Everyone sound asleep. Except you and I. We’re feeding, pacing, rocking…

It’s 3 am.

Another lonely sleepless night.

It’s 3 am again.

A time I now cherish. Watching your peaceful face. Wishing I could stay in this moment forever.

It’s 3 am. The world is quiet.

Everyone sound asleep. Except you and I. Your little head resting on my chest.

It’s 3 am.

A special moment just between us. Our bond growing stronger.

It’s 3 am. I’ll sleep again one night. But for now I’ll cherish this moment. Listening to just our breathing and your sweet noises. I look at your face and take in every little detail. My heart so full of love.

Welcome! Let me take a second to introduce myself!

My name is Macie Nance. I am a wife and soon-to-be mama. I got married to my husband September 2022 and shortly after found out we were pregnant in November. Our sweet little boy is due August 2023.

Our lives have drastically changed all within the first year of marriage. Now we’re navigating our new life as spouses and parents.

I am a fairly new Christian. I found Christ in October 2021. Honestly it was a rough start. I wasn’t the best and still not the best at reading and praying daily. Sometimes I let life get in the way. But God doesn’t let me stray far.

I know God has great plans for me in this new journey as a wife and mother just like I know He has great plans for you. My goal is to become a better Christian wife and mother and hopefully help other women along the way.
