Those of you who sesh with me know I always like the back of the parking lot. Back to the wall. Lol.
When you served the traditional market for as long as I did, you learned to watch everything. You played window Nintendo. You Constantly checked mirrors. You even sat in a restaurant and made sure you could watch the door. You gloriously maintained conversations while keeping 50% of your attention on everything else. Head on a swivel.
Always ready. Always prepared. Always medicated.
Nowadays I stay with my back to the wall. Head above water. Ten toes down. I keep the circle so small I smoke half the blunt myself.
I gotta be like that. The Gortach of Missouri wants to get me.

“Waxy Brown” aka Daniel Jones, started out as an alias to protect his family. Years ago, Daniel participated in the cannabis trade before it was legalized. As you can imagine, the luxury of having an alias provided his family with a layer of protection from the perils of the industry.

Following his arrest and subsequent protest from jail, Daniel found his calling as an advocate and voice for cannabis. The Waxy Brown persona became a great way to represent the industry and a shock to the system elsewhere.

Embracing the “Stoner Stereotype” visually but being incredibly well versed with legal statutes, industry knowledge, and more gave him a unique opportunity to represent this industry. Daniel even found himself on the City Council where he stayed true to the persona.

Wearing tie dye and a bandana he was able to decriminalize cannabis in his hometown. The juxtaposition of a “long haired hippie” that can affect real change on a (local) government level, blew people’s minds.

Waxy Brown has become somewhat of a cultural hero in Missouri. Borrowing a technique from Sun Tzu’s Art of War Daniel presents a strong point as a weakness. Visually he is often dismissed as a stereotype. But when engaged he is one of the more well versed industry experts in the market today.
