One Punch Man: The Strongest Comprehensive Gear Set Guide

Gear Set helps your character get a decent BP, depending in their role in PvP and/or daily tasks (Club Boss/Daily Challenges etc.). You can classify gear set by their rarity (White, Green, Blue, Purple, Orange) or their Special Effects (Formal, Casual, Battle, Scholar, Monk, Swordsman, Martial Arts, Lightning, Prisoner, Gangster, Primal, Suit, Knight). Below are the summaries of their classification:
[Special Effects]
Formal
- if a debuffed wearer gets attacked by enemy, there's 50% chance that same enemy's column will get the same debuff
- recommended for frontline characters
- available only at Mall Groceries (for now)

Casual
- 10% HP heal after action is taken

Monk

- Each enemy attacked by wearer increases damage to main target by 10% as extra DMG, up to 30%
- recommended for Priority/AOE attackers (CE, SK, AS, GB etc.)
- available at Conqueror's Challenge, Unnatural Disasters, and Mall Groceries

Martial Arts
- Max ATK increases by 10%

Lightning

- Increases damage dealt by 15% if it's a CRIT

Gangster
- Basic attack damage increased by 35% (follow-ups included)
- Basic attack increase serves as extra DMG
- recommended for Burst/Single target/Follow-up attackers (AS, BK, SK, etc.)
- available at Conqueror's Challenge, Unnatural Disasters, and Mall Groceries

Primal
- The same column of the main target will get 30% of the damage made by the wearer, and the main target will get the same 30% damage dealt also
- basically a Lightning gear, but with extra effects
- recommended for Burst/Single target/Column attackers
- available only at Club Bosses

Knight
- Each enemy attacked by wearer increases damage to main target by 20% as extra DMG, up to 60%
- basically an improved version of Swordsman Gear
- recommended for Priority/AOE attackers (CE, SK, AS, GB etc.)
- available at Conqueror's Challenge, Unnatural Disasters, and Mall Groceries

White: N quality
- most common, but has the smallest stat increase
- can obtain this through Conqueror's Challenge and Unnatural Disaster
- recommended to be dismantled ASAP to get Gear XP card and Gear Voucher
Green: N-R quality
- common, gives more than white quality
- can obtain this through Club Bosses, Conqueror's Challenge, Unnatural Disaster, and Mall Groceries
- recommended to be dismantled if the stats contradicts its intended special effects
Blue: R-SR quality
- rare, decent enough to be permanent set
- can obtain this through Club Bosses, Conqueror's Challenge, Unnatural Disaster, and Mall Groceries
- recommended not to dismantle, unless both of these are present: 1) Stats contradicts its intended special effects and 2) You already have that same gear but the latter complements its intended special effects
Purple: SR-SSR quality
- quite rare, should be wore by your main LU
- can obtain this through Club Bosses, Conqueror's Challenge, Unnatural Disaster, and Mall Groceries
- recommended not to follow the gear sets' special effects yet unless the set is complete and their stats complements
Orange: SSR quality
- limited quality, should be wore by your main LU once you have it ASAP
- can obtain this through Club Bosses (for now), and Conqueror's Challenge (needs citation)

Note: The ideal gear set for each character should be the first gear set I mentioned below. You can try the next set if the first set isn't complete yet.
Disclaimer: I only included the characters I own because I can attest the gear set's effectiveness based on my experience using them. I will include other characters if I have time to research. Also, I will not include some R and most N characters since they're basically just a decoration and figurine purposes. Peace!
