老君山道观始建于唐开元十年（公元722年）
距今也已经有了1200多年的历史
多位道家祖师如谢自然、张三丰、邱长春等都到访过
并在此讲道说法
在历史的长河中
老君山经历过三次损毁
1993年道教人士发动捐款捐物
后修建了老君大殿，三清殿，慈航殿、三皇阁等
形成了现在所见的气势宏伟的建筑群
