💭 Reflection: roadtrips are the best places to have deep conversations. Vince and I got back from a weekend trip to Georgia and it was so fun. We got to be like little kids again enjoying life without thinking of responsibilities, bills, or work. I don’t always want to showcase the business side to you. Honestly I’m still learning how to find a balance between rest and work. It’s hard and difficult. So posting these weekly reflections every once in a while helps me to focus on other things besides my work. I’ve been loving these reflection series whether that’s through posting image carousels or reels of my daily life. Last weekend Vince and I took a small roadtrip to Duluth, GA. We wanted to have a getaway from everything. Thankfully my aunt and uncle opened up their home to us. We enjoyed morning conversations with them about current events happening in the world, getting baked goods from all the Asian bakeries 🤤, playing Catan, shopping for cool figurines and blind boxes, playing at the Round 1 arcade, worshiping at @passioncityatlanta and eating hot pot/seafood. But some of the most memorable parts from the weekend were the funny, deep, and intimate car conversations I had with my husband. Sometimes I get surprised to see how we never run out of things to talk or laugh about. I’m thankful for a good companion and best friend. ❤️
My life shot in a cinematic movie as a small business owner looks like this 🎥 01 | cozy cinematic studio vlog out on YouTube now
Last Saturday we headed straight to @waterbeancoffee for a nice change of scenery. Vincent had to get ready to preach his sermon the following day so he spent majority of that day reading, writing, and sermon prepping. On the other hand, I spent an hour or two reading a book called “The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self” by Carl Truman. It was a very intriguing read as the world navigates through gender dysphoria, gender identity, and sexuality. By the way, this cafe has the BEST iced chai in CLT (so far that I’ve tried). My go-to has been iced chai latte with oat milk and caramel syrup. 🥰 Comment below what your favorite drink at a cafe is! Maybe I’ll try that the next time we go to a coffee shop again.
Can you see that we are fans of the minimalist japandi aesthetics? 😅 We wanted our designs to reflect this aesthetic that is well known in the interior design world. Japandi is a mixture of Japanese and Scandinavian style that beautifully blends simplicity, organic elements, and comfort. All of our drawings are minimalistic and intentional, typography choices are classic, and the color palette is earthy and neutral with some pops of color. Each design choice is made to convey a warm, inviting, and comfy feeling. Shirts are a great way to invite conversations about faith, so it is important to us that the creative elements in our products also communicate that same beautiful message too. Our shop closes tomorrow morning at 6am EST!! Place an order on our website to secure our homemade embroidered goods. ❤️
I want to challenge myself by posting my own arrangement of musical covers of songs that are beautiful, encouraging, and artistic.
I am actually a worship leader at ny church. Every week I meticulously configure each worship set. One day I’d love to share my song selection process with you. So typically these song covers I post on here are ones i may not get the chance of leading my worship team on Sunday worship sessions. I believe they are more fitting to be shared on a personal level with my own experiences as they are more artistic and are ambiguous in a way than the hymns and other songs that are very clear in storytelling.
I believe there are certain songs that should be song on a corporate scale due to the nature of the audiences needs but that doesnt mean that these special songs don’t have a place in our faith journey either. I rather choose to see that these expressive ones are more personal and reflective. The meanings can differ from one person to the next based on your individual relationship. Nonetheless these songs still do touch on timeless truths about the triune God’s character and presence in our lives.
So here’s my musical arrangement and cover on the song “Closer” by Maverick city music.
Please draw us closer to you Jesus.

🧵🪡 POV: When you finally find a Christian small business that makes meaningful and aesthetic tote bags.
The best part of owning this small business and making my own line of theologically rich and beautiful goods is making new things that I don’t see in the world yet. Don’t you ever wish that there would be a store or small business that would make your specific style or taste in fashion? Or that you wished there was an artist or small biz owner that could create that design in your head and bring it to life? Now I don’t have to wait for someone else to invent or design what I want to wear or see in this world. But the only person I’m waiting on is me.
Here are commonalities you will find in all the things we create. I like thinking outside of the box. Finding fresh ways to present the same idea or phrase. I like earthy toned colors because they will never get boring or old. I like abstract and simple art that keeps things minimalistic and clean for people to easily remember the message. And most importantly, I like intentionality.
Each word, phrase, color, collection, and even style has been intentionally created and placed there for a purpose. An artist wants others to be curious about their painting or clay creation. A writer or poet wants a reader to wrestle with the words they’ve written. And so I want you to be curious about the story behind each tote bag, shirt, and long sleeves. Why? Because I believe that curiosity will lead you discover a good triune God is behind each design.
So follow along with me and see the world through how I do as an artist, theologian, and entrepreneur. Wonder and be amazed by the timeless truths that Scripture teaches us as you marvel at how art, in its expressiveness, does in fact lead you to long for God in new way.

📦🎧: Evening studio sounds: folding the fig tee. I personally love working at night. It’s more peaceful and serene. This evening I put on a netflix show to play in the background while folding up all of our Fig tees. 💬 Comment below some shows and movies you like to watch to pass time. By the way, our shop just opened up again after many of you reached out to me. If you want to order design you still can! We are still selling our Fig t-shirts and the rest of our shirts and totes from collection 1. The shop opens till next Monday at 6am EST.
📦🎧: Studio sounds on shipping days. We’re announcing our shop reopening tonight at 6pm EST!
📬 POV: when you’ve finally come across intentional and aesthetic packaging. Each of order comes with a specialized product card to remind you of the biblical truths, tissue paper and twine that wraps around your item, and a minimalistic polymailer. Who’s excited for our next drop soon??
📦 Small business diaries: pack an order for my Nxf (pastor’s wife) with me! Nxf has been hosting a Hmong language camp for our community, and last year I served as a volunteer to help out with the kids which helped me learn basic grammar and vocabulary. She ordered the popular Hmong believers long sleeve. Our shirt came at the perfect time and is so fitting for her as she’s helping out withKuv Camp that is currently happening in the Hickory area this week.
🧵🪡 Small business diaries: Here’s what you typically find and hear me doing in my little studio home: threading while the machine is embroidering. Production for all 40+ orders are finally wrapping up this week. 😅 Believe it or not, it was very peaceful. A couple days ago, I asked Vincent what he’s learned about me since being married for two years. He said that he never knew I was so creative and that I work better by myself than under others. He’s never seen me so diligent and driven to accomplish anything until this small business started. I don’t have to wait for others to give me a list of things to do. I don’t have to brainstorm ideas for someone else to approve or disapprove. Although these are great traits and qualities of working at a traditional 9-5 workplace, I’ve recognized that I thrive in different environments than these. Being my own boss has been rewarding, but it also has its own challenges. A current struggle I’m facing right now is learning how to take a break and rest from all things business. It’s really hard to manage time. You’d think that working for yourself gives you more free time to do whatever you want compared to a 9-5 job. But I would actually say it’s the complete opposite. It’s absolutely harder. It’s easier for you to work a 12 hour shift than an 8 hour shift. 🥴 But I guess here’s to learning how to get better at time management! #smallbusiness #christianapparel #christianartist
SALE IS UP!! Limited sizes and selection. First come first serve basis. Thank you ❤️
📬 New Mail in the Mailbox !! Unbox my Munbyn bluetooth thermal label printer. I see so many other small business owners using this so I had to grab one to create my shipping labels for when I ship my packages. Honestly, I’m most excited about packaging your products and adding personal touches ☺️. That’s a huge reason why I decided to make everything in my little home instead of ordering from other vendors or manufacturers. Everything is made with intentionality. ❤️
As we are nearing the last hour and a half before we close up our shop to make our orders, I was getting nostalgic thinking about how many years it’s taken for me to get where I am today. The past three days of seeing many of you support our artwork and vision has been so incredible, and the younger Grace would’ve never imagined this moment. Here’s a short and sweet snippet of how my experiences over the past five years have shaped who I am today. ❤️
🧵🪡Small business diaries: I finally got my thank you cards from @vistaprint ☺️.
Only two more days left to order from our shop. You don’t want to miss it because we may not bring back some of the same designs! Tap the link in our bio to access our products.
🧵🪡 Small business diaries: I finally accomplished cleaning up my little home and running out to Ikea to buy a pegboard for storage organization!! It’s kind of crazy how much organization can give someone a peace of mind. Everything in my little home studio was cluttered, and I honestly didn’t think I’d have enough room for embroidering my shirts and totes. But I dedicated all of yesterday to clean up. And let’s just say it made a HUGE difference. My little home now feels more spacious, clean, and welcoming. Of course along the way I noticed that my walls were empty, and I needed something to hold all the small tools for embroidering. So Vincent and I made a trip to our local Ikea here in Charlotte to scout out their pegboards that I’ve seen other small business owners use. I found the perfect size. So please enjoy this small video of Vince and I putting together the pegboard and then customizing it from yesterday night.✨I’m thinking that I can finally post a little home and studio tour soon. ☺️☺️
👀 Sneak peek at the second shirt design in our first collection. Can you guess what it was inspired by?
📬 New Mail in the Mailbox !! Unbox my very first tote bag I’m going to sell in collection 1 with me.
I started using different tote bags during my college years because it was easier to carry my laptop, notebooks, and pens. Since then I’ve completely stopped using my backpack. Totes are convenient, chic, and a comfortable way to carry your personal items. It’s so exciting to see my inventory slowly building up for the pre launch. ☺️
By the way, I customized this with the help of VistaPrint!

☀️ a glimpse of my Friday morning and SNEAK PEEK of one of our very first designs !!
Huge accomplishments this week:
• Ordered our first batch of tees/long sleeves to embroider and prep for our photoshoot
• Finalized our last design that took literally three to four weeks to communicate with my digitizer 😮💨
• Updated our website and currently writing a business plan for how we want to grow this small business
• Planning fun and creative ways to reach more people through blogs and podcasting
My reflection as I’m preparing for our first shop launch: Starting a business is hard. You have to invest in it before you start seeing the fruits of the hard work. I had this idea that we were going to be debt free before starting our little shop but I soon realized that it would take us another 5-7 years to get to a financially stable place to begin a business. We just have to dive right into it. I guess this is the risk starting a small business. I’ve learned that there is no perfect timing. The perfect time is right now. So here’s the first post of documenting our journey as a small business owner. I can’t wait to have so many more peaceful and quiet mornings of creating meaningful products to inspire others love for the triune God 🤍
