Because there are far too many things going on around us at any one time or brains are unable to store it all. So instead when information is processed it is either Deleted, Distorted, or Generalized.
We have to be careful when we generalize because that is how stereotypes are created. When we stereotype we overlook a person with unique talents, thoughts, and feelings. Over the next 2 discussion we will tackle two extremes of large, and the unfair stereotypes that we place on them.
