“Cringe” the word I hear unfortunately WAY too often.

Now before I start I want to say, I’m with you if you feel this way. I myself used to be terrified to post on social media (says the social media manager 🤷🏼‍♀️).

I was so sacred of what other people would think and say. Until one day it just hit me. I refuse to live my life for and through the approval of others. How on earth am I supposed to be a creative individual if I am constantly conforming to what others are doing just for the sake of “not being cringe”??!!?

You can never learn or succeed if you don’t try - I’d rather be a happy fool than an unhappy perfectionist.

There were a lot of factors that when into me starting my own business. One of the main ones being that I want to help other business owners feel confident with their brand. It can be so overwhelming when you’re first starting out. From colour pallets to type faces, top to bottom I will always help in anyway that I can.

Nothing makes me happier than when a client is not only pleased with their online presence but they actively look forward to creating content, coming up with sales events, or simply hopping onto stories to share their day.

I chose my own path of helping those who are also doing the same

Ohhhh don’t even get my start on updates 🤯

Sometimes it can feel like the second you fully understand how to use a platform, they decide to switch things up. Which is sometimes a great thing! Thinking about where social media has come in the past 10 years I am very grateful for all of the updates that have gotten us here. However, that doesn’t mean that updates aren’t stressful. Because they can be.

Doing your own market research is not as difficult as it seems 🧐

Adding the question box and poll features on your stories are going to be your best friend when it comes to finding out what your audience wants to see from you 👀

If you’re constantly engaging back with your audience and making your content something they want too see is an amazing way to ensure that your building a loyal following! 🤝

Don’t get me wrong competition isn’t all bad. You should have some degree of awareness of what others are doing in your industry.

But that doesn’t mean you have to follow suit. If you are confident with the way your business has been branded, you can feel secure knowing that there’s lots of room in this world for everybody! 💖

Making relationships is more fulfilling than competing with one another, trust me!

Ouuu let me tell ya babe, when it comes to staying organized I’m sure we could all use a little tip or two 😅

Now, I cannot give you all of the answers as to how to master the art of staying on top of your 💩. Because truthfully I myself have a lot to learn, and that’s okay!!

Buuuut however, one thing I will share with you that I share with all of my clients is to plan your content and post with purpose. 💛

How can you do that??

Take out your notepad (or notes app), write down your content pillars, then underneath each content pillar come up with content ideas!

An extra tip, throughout the month if you have any ideas for content WRITE 👏🏼 THEM 👏🏼 DOWN 👏🏼. Trust me you will forget and this is a huge time saver when it comes down to planning your feed!

Showcasing your business on social media can be daunting. Suddenly you’re thrown into a pool with tons of people within your industry all on different steps of their own journey.

You might find yourself thinking…

“Well what’s the point of starting now?”

“______ is already so successful it feels like there’s no room for me and my business online”

“I should have started earlier”

The best advice I can give to you is, don’t view others within your industry as competition. Everyone starts with 0 followers. Everyone gets the same clean slate. It’s up to you as too how your business is going to shine online - focus on that. Focus on your self growth and the growth you want for your business.

One of the first things I think whenever I’m a new client at a beauty business is “Do I trust them?” 🤨

Coming across as genuine as possible on social media will give those who have never come to see you that feeling of trust that is so very important in the beauty industry 🧖🏼‍♀️

Work life balance, one of life’s biggest mysteries. 🤔

I don’t have the perfect formula to give you in order to fully achieve both, but there are things I try and do throughout my day / week in order to make life easier.

Celebrate the little things. If you don’t give yourself credit, no one will.

Make time to do nothing. Give yourself a guilt free break, stop convincing yourself that you need to work around the clock in order to be successful.

The bad days will be bad. Accept and understand this. Not everyday is supposed to be easy, if they were you wouldn’t learn anything.

Remember👏🏼 you 👏🏼 are 👏🏼 a 👏🏼 badass 👏🏼

Let’s talk about content pillars 🏛

I like to think of content pillars as the bones of your Instagram account, and they are going to be your life saver if you’re constantly running out of ideas on what to post!

First think of what kind of content you want to be sharing with your audience. Do you want to educate them? Do you want to showcase your skills? Do you want to give an insight to your personal life?

Once you’ve answered those types of questions you’ll start to see your content pillars forming!

Then come up with content ideas that fall under each content pillar. E.g - If you have a content dedicated to your personal life you could include things like, life updates, new products you’ve been loving, trends you think we will be seeing a lot of, ect.

To be successful on social media you’re told to be consistent.

Post post post or it could harm your business.

But in the same breath we’re told to unplug, be present, avoid burnout.

How the 🤬 is one person supposed to do both at the same time???

There is no exact formula to success when it comes to social media life balance 🤷🏼‍♀️

My biggest tip that I want to share with you is to take advantage of the good days. If you are having an energetic day where making content just feels easy - TAKE ADVANTAGE!!!

📲 Create a some reels / tiktoks, take those client photos, hop onto stories and just chat!

If you take advantage of the good days and you can ensure that you have a backlog of content that you can put out on days where you’re more busy or days we’re you’re just not feeling it!

Most importantly be gentle with yourself, don’t get overwhelmed and don’t hesitate to ask for help - it’s what I’m here for! 💗

You’ve probably heard about the importance of finding your niche when it comes to your businesses social media profile 👩🏼‍🤝‍👩🏽

But WHY is it so important?

Having an idea of who you’re posting for on social media will help you create content that serves a genuine purpose for those you’re wanting to help!

Maybe your niche is busy moms - so you could gear your content toward helping those mommas by posting things like:

- 5 minute makeup routine
- Low maintenance hair colours
- 3 step skincare routine

Take a second to really think about who you’re talking to. What content should you post that would best benefit them in their day-to-day lives 💗

Products that aren’t products - Now what is that? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Any product / tool that can be used to enhance the users experience and results, some more necessary than others. 🧖🏼‍♀️

Giving your followers little recommendations here and there, to things that you may not sell directly from your spa is an AMAZING way to build the trust that you need for a loyal clientele. This shows them that no matter where they go that at the end of the day their skin and how they feel about it is the most important thing to you as an aesthetician. 💗

Plus I mean who doesn’t love a trusted recommendation for a product that you not only love, but serves a bigger purpose for the health of your skin. 🤩

Let’s talk hashtags 📲

Hashtags are a label for the content that you’re putting out. Using hashtags are very important when it comes to SEO (Search Engine Optimization) within the Instagram platform.

Think of keywords that relate to your content / business, then type these words into your search bar and see what hashtags come up!

You can also check out what other accounts within your niche and see what hashtags their using.

Fonts can be one of the biggest pain points that I face in the beginning stages of branding a business. Because of that I always make sure to have a list of fonts piled up for any given moment! So here are my favourite modern fonts - all of which can be found on Canva! 💗

The type face of your business / brand is a very important step to consider when you’re just starting your business online. The type of font you choose to use throughout your social media, is one of the first things a client thinks of when your business pops into their head!

Stop spending all your time focusing on your follower count!! 🙅🏼‍♀️

It can be tough to set our ego aside enough to not focus on the physical amount of followers you want to have.

Switch your mindset of “Followers = Success” instead focus on building a community! Creating a community for your platform will ensure that level of trust with your audience.

Spend the extra time engaging with your current audience. Get to know them! This will in tern make it easier for you to create content that you know your audience wants to see! 💗

Are you actually hustling? Or are you just pushing yourself to burnout? 🤭

Hustle culture has become a well known concept over past years - overworking to the point where it becomes a lifestyle. Exerting every last bit of yourself into your work. There’s no fine line between over working and success.

Don’t get me wrong though! Working hard is vital to success, but ask yourself “Am I hustling for the right reasons?” Take a step back to reevaluate, and reignite your passion instead of just going through the motions.

Some ways to avoid hustle culture are :

- Schedule time for you and slow down! Effectively add necessary breaks in between work hours. Include rest days for yourself throughout the week. Have that coffee break! You deserve it
- Focus on person goals! Set aside time for your self care. Find time for yourself again! Fall back in love with an old hobby, catch up with family & friends. Find time for yourself that have no relation to your work!
