Meaning of Pentecost?

Pentecost is derived from a creek word "Penter" which Means (50TH) Fifty , Fifty means pouring of the Holy Spirit. Pentecost is celebrated by denominations and even nations, some observe it as a holiday while some observe it as a day to reference God.

• On the day of pentecost The room was filled with anticipation. Disciples, once scattered, had gathered in Jerusalem, waiting for the promise of the Father. Suddenly, a mighty wind swept through, tongues of fire danced on each head, and they were filled with the Holy Spirit.

SIGNIFICANT OF THE PENTECOST DAY

1. Jesus is a Keeper of Promise ( Acts 1:4, John 14:15-17)

2. Pentecost unite believers.

3. Pentecost signifies the birth of Christ.

4. Pentecost unite all believers by healing the division and hostility of the tower of babel.

5. Pentecost is to enhance the fulfilment of purpose of the church, The purpose of the church is to take the word of God till the end of the world.

CONCLUSION

Pentecost stands as a powerful testament to the unifying power of faith, where diverse individuals, empowered by the Holy Spirit, come together in a shared declaration of God's love and wonders.

• You must not be a thief.

• You must not pr******te.

•. Reflect on your values and beliefs: Understand what you stand for and what you want to dedicate yourself to.

• Let go of self-centeredness: Prioritize the greater good over personal interests.

• Cultivate humility and obedience: Be willing to follow guidance and direction.

• Practice self-denial: Be willing to give up things that distract you from your purpose.

• Live with intention: Align your actions and decisions with your values and purpose.

• Seek spiritual guidance: Connect with a higher power or spiritual community for support.

NOTE: Offer yourself fully to God, surrendering your plans, desires, and ambitions. Let go of selfishness and live for His purpose, guided by humility, obedience, and faith.

Today reminds us about the ultimate sacrifice at Golgotha.

It is not a day to mourn because He is not before Pilate to be judged but He is a Judge and a King on His throne, no longer with the Crown of Thorns but a Golden Crown.

Therefore, as we reflect, let us eschew sin and embrace Righteousness as a key to Heaven..
