There is a certain freedom in drawing cartoons that allows us to contemplate ideas outside the confines of our immediate reality.

This style is so simple yet it is so popular too. Up to this date, there are hundreds of different non-realistic cartoon styles. Often falling under the umbrella of comic style illustration, cartoons can be similar in the sense that it's aimed at storytelling and is often used in panels along with wording and plot to tell a story. However, cartoon illustration usually has a childlike, whimsical sensibility. For example, Snoopy and Garfield are well-known print cartoons that are definitive of this style.

Exaggeratingly simplified or big head? That’s caricature art!

In caricature art, a person typically uses exaggeration of some characteristics and oversimplification of others to portray personality and humour. This style of illustration can be insulting or complimentary with a political purpose or solely for entertainment purposes. So, yes! This style is usually defined by humour. Sometimes caricature artists can be found on the streets of tourist attractions and they will draw anything you like for cheap.

The next illustration style is conquering the art world—one line at a time.

With a blank space, anyone can create line art with just a pen. It consists of distinct straight and curved lines, without gradation in shade or hue to represent 2D or 3D objects. It’s incredibly simple yet so clever, which is why it’s appealing to many! Today, it has become an increasingly popular modern style of art illustration that people have gotten creative and made them intricate and detailed, weaved colour in, and added shades and textures.

Wow, three posts in a row? What a toasty Thursday indeed! The third style for the day is: comic illustration style.

Firstly, comic artworks are alive with movement, emotion and action. So, the illustration style is centred around storytelling with edgy aesthetic, exaggerated All facial expressions and character poses. Aside from the layout structure of comic stories, these features are the ones that bring life to the illustrations

Not only comics can be found in… comic books, it is also available in most magazines and newspaper. Can you think of any comics you recently saw or read? Leave comments!

Toasty T day calls for more crumbs! The next illustration style we have is: Realism!

Realism in the arts is generally the attempt to represent subject matter truthfully, without artificiality and avoiding speculative fiction. So, it depicts characters, perspective and details so accurately to the point where what you see in the realism art is exactly what you would see in real life. This is considered the most complex style of illustration because details are very important and it can take weeks and even months to finish a drawing.

If one is very particular about details, this is the best illustration style to go with. I mean, just look at the illustrated pineapple and bananas in the picture.

Are you an otaku? If you are, then the first digital illustration style is dedicated to you!

Anime, which is short for animation, illustration style is a stylized form of two- and three-dimensional illustration and animation that originated in Japan. This style, however, is now known globally thanks to all otakus out there. Generally, an anime artist will use colourful images, diverse art styles, wild hair and exaggerated visual effects to bring their characters or objects to life. This means that they will typically have vibrant and stark colourful graphics with fantastic and futuristic themes in the artwork.

Ps: Otaku is a Japanese word that describes people with consuming interests, particularly in anime and manga, and yes… anime is a style used by many!

A. It means you pay half of your commission fee first and then once it is complete, you pay the remaining half.

Similar to a Standard Operating Procedure or SOP for short (which by the way, don't forget to follow it!), our bakery also has its own set of rules and rights.

Certain requests can be accepted or rejected if it follows our terms of service. If what you like is rejected, then butter luck next time. If what you like is accepted, then get ready to sniff the beautiful aroma of a potential art commission.

Before you dough though, kindly remember to check and read through our terms of service to avoid any future miscommunication or misunderstandings!

The terms of service serves like a contract between the artist and their client so both parties would be happy with a commission with no issues.

FAQs:
Q. What does "personal use" mean?
A. Personal use is the exact opposite of commercial use. The commission you get can be printed or used for your own amusement, however you may NOT create any commercial purposes or profit using the said commission in any way.

Q. Does that mean I can edit/change the commission I get for personal use?
A. Yes, however we do not prefer that you upload the edited/changed version.

Digital illustration is the creation of a narrative image that tells a story, conveys an emotion or mood, or sells a concept or product. This type requires the use of digital tools to produce images under the direct manipulation of the artist, typically through a device such as a tablet and a stylus pen (or even a mouse if you want). It is essentially like drawing on a piece of paper- except it’s digitalized and drawn on screens.
