Alice Springs! Nothing like what we expected.... In a good way

Hi guys, we are currently in Alice Springs for the next 3 nights. Yesterday we left Kings Canyon after 3 awesome days. We took the notoriously rugged Mereenie Loop through the MacDonnell Ranges. We saw wild donkeys, Brumbies, camels and dingos along the way. In Kings Canyon, we heard the dingos howling at night. Through Yulara, a carton of beer was $140! We didn't buy one 😎

Last night, we watched the sun go down on Uluru. The colours were amazing and the carpark was full of people sitting on their rooftops. The campsite we are staying in also has a viewing area. The red dirt, although annoying, is actually such a deep, earthy colour. It's pretty special.

In absolute awe of Uluru! We stayed at Curtain Springs for 3 nights at a free camp with a view of Mt Connor and arrived at Yalara yesterday. Took a drive out to Uluru today and it blew our minds! Tomorrow we are bike riding around it to take it all in. What a spiritual place.

Coober Pedy.... We can safely say we've never seen a place like this! It's like a cross between Utah and the outskirts of Las Vegas.... What a unique experience. The people have been friendly and fuel is $2.07pl. Tomorrow we start our journey towards the NT border(392km). We are planning to free camp all the way to Uluru, which we are booked into next Tuesday. Wish you were all here.

As we make our way towards Broken Hill, we have travelled through Dunedoo where we stopped for a bathroom stop. It's not called Dunedont after all. We enjoyed a free camp in Mendooran where we enjoyed our first fire and were served up an awesome sunset. Tonight we are staying at Hermidale Hotel, before heading on to Cobar tomorrow. Kids are excited to see the red dirt already. We know we are blessed to have this experience, and the excitement is building of the adventure that awaits!
