Schedule changes for Dipolog and Pagadian flights - November 9 to 30

We are adjusting the schedules of our flights to Dipolog and Pagadian during the period from November 9 to 30, 2023:

A. New Manila-Dipolog-Manila schedule timings (November 9 to 30, except on Nov. 15, 22, 26 and 29*):

• PR 2557 Manila-Dipolog – Daily departing at 02:30 PM, arriving at 04:30 PM
• PR 2558 Dipolog-Manila – Daily departing at 05:15 PM, arriving at 07:15 PM

* Note: Flights on November 15, 22, 26 and 29 are cancelled.

B. New Manila-Pagadian-Manila schedule timings (November 9 to 30):

• PR 2751 Manila-Pagadian – daily departing at 05:15 AM, arriving at 06:50 AM
• PR 2752 Pagadian-Manila – daily departing at 07:30 AM, arriving at 09:00 AM

The changes above are due to the ongoing repair work on the runway at Dipolog airport, allowing only for partial operations using turboprop aircraft on the concerned days.

UA OPENS DIRECT FLIGHT FROM MANILA TO SAN FRANCISCO,
ADDS FLIGHT FROM BRISBANE TO LOS ANGELES

Already the largest U.S. carrier across both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, United Airlines announced last July 18, 2023 its addition for even more flights to the Asia-Pacific region, becoming the first U.S. airline to fly direct to Manila from the continental U.S., this October 2023.

This expansion builds on the continued growth of United's international network. Earlier this year, the airline made the largest South Pacific network expansion in aviation history – adding 40% more flights between the U.S. and Australia/New Zealand. And this summer United is flying its largest-ever schedule across the Atlantic, 32% larger than the airline's 2019 schedule and 10% larger than the next largest U.S. carrier.

SFO TO MNL AND VICE VERSA
Starting October 29, United will be the only U.S. airline with non-stop transpacific flights to the Philippines, with the launch of its service between San Francisco and Manila. Adding to the carrier's existing service to Manila from Guam and Palau, the new flight will operate daily on a Boeing 777-300ER, the airline's largest airplane.

AU & NZ EXPANSION
Earlier this year, United announced the largest South Pacific network expansion ever to and from the continental U.S. This upcoming northern winter, United will operate 66 flights between the U.S. and Australia/New Zealand every week. Highlights include:
• Becoming the only airline to offer non-stop service to Christchurch, New Zealand with new service from San Francisco*
• Building on its position as the largest U.S. airline to Auckland by adding four weekly flights from Los Angeles*
• Serving as the largest carrier between the U.S. and Brisbane with a new route from Los Angeles*
• Offering daily flights between San Francisco and Brisbane and Melbourne and twice daily flights between San Francisco and Sydney

Six-foot-seven Filipino Kai Ballungay soared high and nailed a crunch thunderous dunk to seal the lead of Philippines’ Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles against Australia’s NBL1 Team, Southern District Spartans, 80-78, last July 09, 2023 at the Rowland Cowan Stadium in Carina, Queensland.

This friendly match was Coach Tab Baldwin and the Blue Eagle’s campaign to defend their UAAP Season 85 Men’s Basketball title in Season 86.

GOOD NEWS❗FILIPINOS can “still” enter Taiwan Visa-free. 🇵🇭🇹🇼

As announced by Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) on June 30, 2023, their government extended the visa-free entry of Philippine passport holders from August 1, 2023 to July 31, 2024 as part of its efforts to strengthen bilateral exchanges and attract more tourists.

“After evaluating the effectiveness of the above convenience measures over the past years and considering the need to revive mutual bilateral exchanges and tourism in the post pandemic era, participating agencies decided to extend the trial visa-free entry measure for one year for nationals of Thailand, Brunei, and the Philippines from August 1, 2023, to July 31, 2024,” Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) told on a press release. |
