For today's 🌞BRIGHT FRIDAY🌞 story, we'll be hearing from Aidan Doyle, a Photography student at Salford University who integrates activism into his passion for creating art!

In November last year, Aidan put on an online exhibition for a university project and he wanted to turn the website traffic into something worthwhile!📸

The vote for extending free school meals outside of term time had just been rejected, and though this eventually was passed, Aidan decided to make a GoFundMe that featured on every student's exhibition website page and generated £150 for Salford Food Bank!👍🏻

Aidan continues to donate a portion of his proceeds from selling prints to several charities - great work! 🤩

This week's 🌞BRIGHT FRIDAY🌞 story is short and sweet just like our interviewees new do! 🤩💇🏻‍♀️🤍

Ella Willis is third-year Literature student at Newcastle University - where she is also the president for the Theatre Society!

Ella always wanted to shave her head but wanted to make it into a fundraiser - so in April, she live-streamed it on her Tik Tok which now has over 100k followers and 3.2 million likes!👍🏻

Her chosen charity was the North East Autism Society based in Chester-le-Street, because as a student with autism, she felt the charity supports people who are studying.

Ella raised £350 in a week and she now uses her social medium platform to discuss her experiences with autism!🌞

Happy 🌞BRIGHT FRIDAY🌞 everybody!

This week would have been the annual RHS Chelsea Flower Show had it not been postponed due to the pandemic BUT our interviewee today - Lizzie Fox, founder of 'The Rose Press Garden' - will be going to the show in September!🤍🤩

Lizzie began sharing gardening tips on her Instagram page after she bought her first new-build home and had the task of transforming a pile of mud into a beautiful garden!🪴

And after she noticed the lack of representation for young, beginner gardeners - she decided to build a brand to make the hobby more accessible and fun for all demographics!🌷

She now has 10,000 followers and sells a range of products - wrapped in tissue paper & decorated with inspirational quotes - including her popular monthly seed subscription!👏🏻

Lizzie will also have a stand at this year's RHS Chelsea Flower Show in September where she will bring back her highly-anticipated Flower Seed Advent Calendar - the future is looking VERY bright for The Rose Press Garden!🌺🌸

Happy 🌞BRIGHT FRIDAY🌞 everybody - TGIF!🤪🤪🤪

This week we'll be hearing from Debbie Treadway, a School Secretary from Essex who is taking part in an 800m Open Water Swim challenge TOMORROW at 1:30pm at Chelmsford Tri-farm 🏊🏻‍♀️!

She is one of 40 swimmers who are raising money for Saint Francis Hospice. Each of them were set a £100 target and Debbie has gone beyond that, raising over £600 so far!👏🏻

Though she is an experienced swimmer, having achieved several awards between the ages of 11 and 19, Debbie has been training twice-weekly at the local pool where she has learned new breathing & stroke techniques to prepare her for the lake conditions!

Best of luck to Debbie and all of the other swimmers taking part - hopefully tomorrow will bring BRIGHT weather!🌞

Happy 🌞BRIGHT FRIDAY🌞 everybody - today marks 3 months of Bright Side stories!🥺🤩

This week, we hear from Trisha McGlynn who combined her love for candles and her creativity to start her very own business over lockdown!🕯🤍

Trisha was working as a Forest School Leader until she was furloughed because of the pandemic, but she embraced the opportunity and has been selling candles since February!

Though there was a lot of trialling and testing involved in the early stages, Trisha has found her perfect recipe of 100% soy wax, 100% essential oils in 100% recyclable jars - and she now has 6 scents to choose from!♻️💚

Apologies for the late upload but this week's 🌞BRIGHT FRIDAY (SATURDAY*)🌞 story is well worth the wait!

For national Gardening Week - I spoke to two budding gardeners and allotment owners about their experiences with gardening over the past year! 🌿🪴🍃

Chloe Craig is a cover teacher from Worksop in Nottingham, and when she finally got the keys to her allotment in the first lockdown, she spent most of her free time there!

The newfound space and great weather meant she could experiment with growing more vegetables and a greater variety than ever before!🍅🌽🥕

And further down south in Sussex, Laura Griggs took on the challenge of tidying up her parents' garden space last year and very quickly fell in love with the hobby!

She spent most of her study breaks there while she trained to become a Chartered Commercial Property Surveyor, and now has an allotment filled with a variety of flowers and plants!💐🌺🌸

Happy 🌞BRIGHT FRIDAY🌞 and belated Earth Day everyone!🌎 Today we'll be hearing from a family in Derbyshire who have been litter-picking and up cycling glass bottles to fund new facilities at Codnor Primary School!

Thomas Jorasz, his wife Melissa, and their two sons Finley and Noah, have been clearing the streets of Codnor since February this year ♻️

After just a few days, they realised that the work would bee too much for them to cope with alone so they rallied together local neighbours, families and friends who have all been contributing to the cause!

Since 15th February, they have raised over £10,000 pounds, completed over 1,500 hours of litter-picking and collected more than 3000 glass bottles - amongst many other achievements!🤩

The Codnor Primary School Upcyclers will continue working towards their next target of £11,000 but the family say that none of it would have been possible without the community effort!🤝 Keep it up!
