Did some track riding on the 2006 in the Arizona desert! First time on an actual track in about 30 years! ... And first time forever on a quad! This 400ex is definitely not made for the track, was built and geared for trail riding. Now I can't wait to get the build done! That will be meant for this type of riding! This 1986 is going to be for sale! This was a super fun build (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMpBDzk706r3XUeAc5ZQkwsdgIEWkTfC0) and really brought back a bunch of memories for me as a youngster, but I realize now that I am old and I much prefer 4 wheels. Especially here in the Arizona desert where the terrain is really rough and rocky. Here is the YouTube playlist of the entire build from tear down to completion.

The 1986 by is lookin' badass! Gas tank is painted and mounted and the exhaust is all painted (not shown) ... cylinder studs are installed and just need to finish putting the top end of the motor together and rebuild the carburetor and I can FIRE IT UP!

So I just wanted to do something different on my motor so I stripped the factory black paint and had the entire engine v***r blasted! It looks awesome! Looks so modern and clean ... for now anyway!

Dropped The complete motor and gas tank off at Xpress Metal Cleaning http://xpressmetalcleaning.com/ yesterday to get all the rust and paint off. Motor is going to be v***r blasted and the tank will be painted Honda "Shasta White" again ...
