I mentioned a while back that a Ben Horne episode would be a deceptively tough episode to take on, but I think if I parted it in 3 episodes, it would go a long way.

There's a lot to be said when discussing The Horne family legacy, his experience as a conniving and insidious businessman, and his path toward redemption. Looking forward to covering these in 2024 onward!

Starting next year, I am planning on working on episodes dedicated to each band performed at The Roadhouse. Every episode would be talking about each artist/band's discography, the use of color while on stage, events going on at The Roadhouse during each performance and more.

Not each artist/band has a cohost, but I'm happy to say that enough work has gone into it that episodes should start being released early-mid 2024.

This is my last Star Wars post, I swear. Taken back in 2016 when at Disney, when I was still optimistic about the Sequel Trilogy (oh how things changed). George Lucas reflecting on David Lynch's involvement in "The Making of Return of the Jedi":
"David obviously was a very out-of-left-field kind of idea. I like David a lot. I love his work. He's a very, very creative thinker. But I think I may have gone a bridge too far on that one. And I think he realized that when he started thinking about the actual reality of what was going to happen, and that was good. That final decision you know, it's instinct" (page 42)

This book was the root of most of my observations about David Lynch's involvement with Return of the Jedi. One thing I was unable to work in was how close Lynch was to becoming director according to producer Howard Kazanjian. On page 41, he states:

"George called me up Saturday and said 'I want to go with David', so I called David Lynch and he was thrilled, but within 3 days he declined [...] Not long afterward, David announced he was going to do Dune. So obviously he was being simultaneously romanced by [Dino] De Laurentiis. Richard [Marquand] doesn't even knows this story. Nobody knows that story. I mean we were that close."

I'm happy to share more from this book throughout the week that was unable to be mentioned in my latest episode.

Taken in 2021 when I first visited Kiana Lodge and saw the exterior of the Martell home. Hard to believe that after decades of being in the same spot, the log drifted away from its original spot earlier this year. Hope it can somehow be moved back in due time.

Rest in peace Piper Laurie. Even in a cast as large as Twin Peaks, her legacy and decades of work was a cut above every one else. No one else could possibly play Catherine Martell and her absence will be felt greatly from here on.
