Thanks to Swan Island Dahlias in Canby for letting us visit this morning to enjoy the sunrise. The 2022 Annual Dahlia Festival runs through September 30th and is free to attend. Parking is also free! Open everyday except Wednesdays.

The One Motorcycle Show at the historic Zidell Barge Building in South Portland running now through Sunday. Take it from someone who doesn't own a motorcycle, this huge display of unique bikes is pretty cool.

Celebrating local! This week we stopped at Delicious Donuts in SE Portland. Owned and operated by Penny and Boun (super nice people, btw). Their donuts: delicious and creative. The "Dirty Grandpa", "Party Animal" and "Uncle Nutty" just to name a few. Donuts are only the beginning. Check out a Donut Burger and the huge "Pork-land" burrito!
Our meteorologist drops the gavel on a new 1-5 bridge between Oregon and Washington. Just waiting on a call from Washington Governor Jay Inslee. See what happens when Rod Hill becomes Vancouver's mayor for the day? Thank goodness it's April 1st.
One of our morning visits this week took us to Estacada and a stop at Harmony. The restaurant and bakery started in 1984 and is still in the family as a woman-owned business. Fresh baked goods and a nutritious menu are paired with an inclusive environment also offering customers a chance to help the community through the purchase of Hot Meal Vouchers. Distributed by the Estacada Food Bank, recipients can bring in those vouchers for a delicious hot meal. Local art and products are also available at Harmony.
A visit to Mtn Peaks Therapy Llamas & Alpacas in Ridgefield, WA put me in a really good mood. Just seeing those "carrot kisses"...much needed and put a smile on my face.
A very wet drive around the Portland metro area right now as an "atmospheric river" takes hold. Please drive safely and expect standing water on area roads.
The 2022 Pacific Northwest Sportsmen's Show opening today thru Sunday. Check out Old Town Canoes indoor "Bass Lake" stocked with real fish! Help the kids pan for gold and keep what you find. So much to see and experience. The 2nd largest show in the U.S. KGW-TV
Fun visit this morning to Decadent Creations Bakery as the crew gets ready for "Chocopalooza" at Hillsboro's Collective Kitchen Friday, February 11th from 5 to 8pm. More than 20 vendors, live music and plenty of treats. Might want to skip dinner and leave plenty of room for dessert! Thanks to Amy for helping me purchase a small sample (last shot) of what owner Mindy and the team create every day!

we spent the morning with some special friends at Frog Pond Farm in Wilsonville. They have 15 species and over 80 animals to check out. Get your holiday tree and wreaths here too!
HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS now "playing" at the Oregon Humane Society. The goal is to place every pet at the shelter on Dec. 1 into a home by Dec 31. These adorable animals are eager to have their own home and will love you forever for bringing them into your life. It's a positive life-changing experience. I was for me! Besides, who couldn't use a little stress relief around the house, especially during the holidays.
Had a lot of fun shooting and editing this one! Reminiscing about road trips with my parents in the 70's along the Oregon Coast. Got excited as a kid to see the Prehistoric Gardens and even got to stop there once....you know how dads are, LOL.
